Can't give the article much credibility when it states that we would pursue Josh Kennedy.
He's the 3rd generation of a legendary Hawthorn family and he is getting a game at the moment. We wouldn't even waste our time as he wont be going anywhere
i agree with one post saying the swans should wait till 2010/11 given this is the last uncompromised draft.
We may not want to wait, but I can't see us ditching our first or second round pick this year so 2010/2011 when clubs are looking to offload talent for earlish draft picks maybe the option.
Brian Lake in the PSD for nothing would be a huge win for the club, but in a lot of ways very mean of us to the Doggies if we seduced Lake to go down that road.

I don't know for sure, but even though Barry has retired from Sydney, I presume he is still under contract until he is officially delisted at the end of the year.
If the Bulldogs are serious about him and are convinced that Lake is leaving regardless, they may take the view that let's get this thing done in trade week to alleviate any worries about 13 or 14 clubs passing on him in the pre-season draft. I know for a fact they had a 3 year deal on the table for Barry last year but they couldn't get it over the line during trade week.
It would be a HUGE win for Sydney, but the Bullies may have their hands tied.
Driver of the Dan Hannebery bandwagon....all aboard. 4th April 09
Brian Lake I am all for. But Luke Ball? We have enough in and under mids who arent real quick. And Seaby... We have enough ruckmen on the list for at least one of them to develop next year to a solid back-up for Jolly.
Lake for sure, but I doubt he's going to walk out on a team who he's developed with at a time when they're having a shot at the title. Undoubtedly pushing for power at the pay table.
Ball is overrated and is one of those perpetually injured players.
Kennedy - if you can get him, great.
Seaby...??? Why would you. Once Currie is up and running the depth should come from Pyke and Orreal.
Edit: Read the preceding post and move on...should probably have done that myself.

Reason: Why not?
The eternal connundrum "what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object" was finally solved when David Hasselhoff punched himself in the face.
I'm sure the Swans will be keen to play a role in trade week this year but can't see that any of the players listed in that article fit the bill of what we need, with the possible exception of Lake. But why would you pay over the odds for a full back, even one as good as Lake? Especially knowing that Hall kicked 6 on him in the last outing and he might trade places at the Dogs!
Wasn't Kennedy the kid who cost the Hawks a win vs the Cats last week?
Young enough to make an impact, and experienced enough to help with development.
