I was out at the game last night

This morning I can hardly talk and my hands are killing me.

    WHAT A GAME!!

Magnificent effort by the boys. I was so proud of that effort.
Best game this year from the boys IMHO.

Devastating result, however. Heartbreaking to get so close to a draw and to lose it on and dodgy kick dribbling through for a point.

Once again a poor effort on the part of the umps. I swear, every time we started to build momentum those yellow jerks found a free for the Saints.
Is it too much to ask for a little consistency from the umpires?
    Red & White forever.

Well, the Seafood tasting plate was delightful, and the tenderloin was soft and tender, with a tasty sauce. Whilst the Soft centred chocolate pudding was magnificence. The John Dory was delectable, and apparently the Souffle was to die for, but it was a bit sweet for my taste.

Was hoping to head down to the sports bar after dinner to catch the end of the flogging, but didn't get out of the restaurant in till after 11.

Only found out the results reading this mornings paper. sad result, but a huge effort, esp. after last weeks sorry effort.
Let's hope the injuries aren't that bad.

Looking fwd to MOL's 300th next week.

ScottH, that was NOT a sad result!!! It was fantastic. It was not the IDEAL result, but from the position of where we thought we would end up last night, believe me it was a great game and it was the start of the generation next, and we are in a potentially great position for the future.

Excuse the convoluted sentance, so much to say, so little ability to do it justice.

Sad, in that they were so, so close. But another goalless qtr didn't help.

          PS: You're excused.

My bad. I blame tiredness... or Swans-induced insomnia.

Of course I agree the Swans can take confidence from last night, and yes, the Saints do deserve kudos for a fantastic season so far. When I was talking about the unwanted record I meant our poor record against the top teams over the last couple of years (not including last night!) We didn't win but the difference last night was it was the first time in a while against a top-4 contender you could have said that we were the better team out there.

But I think most posters have agreed that the Swans can take a lot of confidence from it, so we're all on the same page.

I agree with Al, their fans are complete wankers!
There were a few of them carrying on outside the ground after the game - you'd have thought they'd won by 60 - and they didn't appreciate it when I pointed out that it was only favourable umpiring that won the game for them.
I hope they choke in the Prelim as they do every other year!

Go the Cats in the finals!

I'm with you Jewels & Al. Worst fans in the league.

And take a look at the end of the game. Top of the screen Ferret Face Milne, if that doesn't make you detest the serial losing peasants, and their @@@@bagger supporters, then nothing will.

I hope they go out in straight sets.

Come on lighten up - as long as there's no aggression or violence and no-one is too personal or offensive it's all fun.

I like the Saints fans. In fact I like most fans and appreciate that different clubs have different fan cultures. I wouldn't half enjoy smashing the Pies, Hawks, Blues, Weagles, Dons, or the Saints if their fans weren't such tools.

And it's been said before but the Saints are long suffering so you have to expect them to to be a little crazy and excited when they win a game letalone have a real tilt for the premiership.

                      Back to the team...
I thought K. Jack attacked the ball like a man possessed last night.
Several times he was Judd like.
Just wanted the ball and no one was getting in the way.
                      Maybe the Kirk in training.

Jack released of a tagging role and used as an attacking midfielder worked beautifully and he has the skill and hard work to get the ball and use it very well ... i hope it continues next week!!

When Micky 'O' missed the set shot in the last quarter, an arrogant Saint's fan behind yelled out, "You've always been a choker Mick". I replied, "At least we don't choke in finals'. He said no more!

                              Mick did once. Pretty badly.

He is a bit of choker for set shots in tight situations. Like the whole StKilda side, so you're both right!
