Made for a very enjoyable day at the G.
Getting out of the carpark was the best in years ! Must have been the Tiggers who left during the 3rd qtr.
Thought Smith, MOD, Jack and Hanners all showed that they will be AFL level footballers.
Pyke showed a bit more that just a lot of Taps and Goodes was outstanding.

Back in 2 weeks against the Woods ? A different level but definitely a long stride forward over the last 2 weeks.

I also have to comment on LRT. He was excellent today - didn't really seem to have an opponent which helped - but his marking was really good. Actually all of the boys were strong down back.

Can someone tell me what happened between Shaw and King?

Didn't see the game, but the win showed last week's Saints game wasn't a one-off. Look forward to Geelong next week.

Agreed, LRT did look good today. Good win however was a little disappointed with the finish, ah well, we won. Yay, bring on the Cats.

At the ground you could tell the sting had gone out of the game in the last quarter and most of the players were exhausted.
All the hard work had been done.

              Just a fantastic day!

Mickey played well, Goodesy BOG by a mile and we've got some serious young talent coming through. We didn't beat much but we did a great job of it!

So glad the Bloods could do it for Magic - he's a legend and deserved to have his 300th celebrated with a cracking win! A day I'll remember forever!

              GO BLOODS!!!!!

Great efforts by the backline - LRT, C Bolton and Grundy.
The youngsters looked good - Smith, MOD, Jack, Hannebury, White, Moore.

J Bolton's disposal skills continue to be disappointing. Just slightly shaded by Ablett, who hopefully is finished at the end of the year.

Only one good quarter today really, so it was fortunate we were playing Richmond so Micky could have a good 300th.

Maybe it's an omen for Goodes' 250th next week!

Kirk embracing O'Loughlin after the siren was great, a heartfelt response to a significant milestone.

I think the forward line pressure that led up to Jack's goal early in the third typefied our approach to today's game.

I thought Ablett was OK last week, I just wonder how much not having a pre-season as well as the dengue fever took out of him. It's pretty debilitating and I think he'll be given another season. He's a midfielder who's practically built like Plugger and suited to the game style we play.

Followed by Shaw punching King in the mouth. King lost interest in the wrestle after that.

Just finished watching my tape of the game.

                          Great win boys.

                          Goodesy was on fire.

Kieren Jack was brilliant. Just have to say I don't know how he snuck that first goal through .

Magic was fantastic in his 300th. Great to see him get those 2 goals in the 3rd.

Hanneberry, MOD and Nick Smith showed me that we have some promise for the future.

Overall, a great performance all round.

And a great show of class & respect after the game with the Tigers presentation to Mick.

I'll also admit to tearing up a bit watching Magic lead the song in the shed.
                          Red & White forever.

Come on Swans lets do it again next week for Goodesy's 250th.
                            I'll be there early. I can't wait.

I think the banner deserves a mention too. We wanted something special for the occasion, and we got it. Well done CS and banner makers.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

Great win against ordinary opposition. The tackling and general intensity was great for the first three quarters.

Goodes was in another class - he's played a few great games at the MCG. Hannebery, Smith, Grundy, Pyke continued their upward trend. Jack beat Cousins. MO'D impressed, should play the rest of the year, let's see how he goes against stronger opposition. Backline dominant; I like how LRT now backs himself to outmark his opponent. White leading well but spilt a couple he should have marked.

Few negatives - first quarter disposal, injury to McVeigh, Shaw well beaten by King, Ablett didn't contribute much, Barlow abysmal - he runs around like a headless chook.

I thought the game was over-umpired - they were red hot on HTB all day, usually without the player having prior opp. Chamberlain is ordinary.
