I admit I freaked out when I saw it, and noted his anguished expression a moment later. I feel sorry for the bloke (I didn't at the time!) because apart from that horrendous clanger he had a good game. On the whole, so did Barlow, he continues to improve and I'm happy to give him the time he needs; I'm confident he will repay the trust later.

Overall a good effort.
The bottom six brigade led by Barlow and Moore continue to let us down and ultimately cost us games and hence finals football in an even comp.
Even Bevan played a good game with no obvious clangers. Brace yourself for a shocker next week.
Leo slotted in nicely after 12 months off and very little preparation. Few players can do that in AFL football. Welcome back General.
And Leo was rather poor, I thought. I still want him in the team though. Woudn't mind him played simply as a loose man in defence.Officially on the Reid and Sumner bandwagon!Comment

[QUOTE=BSA5;454160] Woudn't mind him played simply as a loose man in defence.
??? I think you are confusing a strategy with a fixed position. There is no position called "loose man in defense".it is a strategy employed when the opposition is on a roll.It automatically frees up an opposition player somewhere which can back fire on you.To start a game with a loose man in defence is like putting up a white flag before a battle. The point of a game is to win not to defend the oppositions attacks.Comment

How good is SOG?
Jack is a very strong tackler and he seemed to be a boy playing against a man - falling off tackles willy nilly. The eternal connundrum "what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object" was finally solved when David Hasselhoff punched himself in the face.Comment

What dissapointed me about it was that Moore dropped his head and jogged to the square with his man, he didn't go all out to try to get between Corey and the goal.I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his timeComment

I think over all the Swans had more moments like this atr the end of the game, but at the start it was all Geelong throwing away opportunities. The eternal connundrum "what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object" was finally solved when David Hasselhoff punched himself in the face.Comment

Haven't been to a game for a while, always interesting having a look at this thread afterwards.
I never really thought we were going to win the game at any time. Got comfortably beaten in the clearances particularly from the centre bounces. Couldn't create much run off half back compared to Geelong (they had a stack more HB than us) and had to bomb the ball into the wings far too often. Generally seemed pretty flat particularly in the first half, very little run and hard leading out of half forward (H. Shaw, and A. Goodes excepted of course).
Would SOG normally play more 50mins of game time up forward, like he did on Sat.??? If that's due to him being not 100% and he can still rack up 44 possys...... (shakes head!!!). Would've like to have seen Jack taken off him in those situations and kept in the middle given he has been in such good form, might've helped with those clearances.
I don't think the other contenders should have too much to fear from the Cats at the moment. Is their time coming to an end???Comment

You could also point some blame at MOL's 2 over zealous tackles, both got the Cats out of a bit of trouble.
Jack letting Ablett out of a tackle right in front of goal.
The number of times early in the game the ball wasn't kicked to Goodes advantage. Over his head, short, side.
Goodes kicking the ball into a mass of cats late in the game.
That strip of grass down the camera side of the ground, where we continually slipped over.Comment
