Agree totally with the fast outside midfielders, we have plenty of hard in and under players, but with Goodes moving forward, who do they feed the ball to? If Jack is going to be used as a tagger, which he probably will for a year or two so he can learn to read the play, that leaves Bird, O'keefe and possibly Marty to run the lines, one more really pacy midfielder wouldn't hurt us at all.

But yes another wouldn't hurt, with plenty of pace and skill.....easy.Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it's time to pause and reflect... MTComment

McVeigh is pretty quick. But i agree with everyone another quick mid would be good. Could we release Jack from tagging and play Laidlaw as a tagger? He is 186 cm 88 kg so would have the body to match the gun mids of the opposition and he has pace. Could be a good way to get him in the team and it releases Jack.Comment

Do we need to target anyone next year?
I can't see any obvious holes in the team at the moment. Perhaps fast, outside midfielders, but we have a few youngsters we're still trying out.
We don't have a lot to trade with, so I would think that next year we just draft the best players we can get with our picks, not worry about trades and spend another year developing the list and see what comes out of it.
I think we do need a mongrel fullback. Nothing wrong with Bolton, but he's 30, so I can see why the club has been interested in Brian Lake. The man who laughs has not yet heard the terrible newsComment

Not a liability, but not what the Swans need. Luke Ball is cut from almost the same mould as Kirk and Jude: not quick, skills passable but prone to errors, ferocious at the ball, great tacklers, read the play well and play with heart. That's all well and good, but not what the Swans need another one of. If we could get him free, we'd be mad not to take him, but there are players of similar worth who would fit better.Officially on the Reid and Sumner bandwagon!Comment

I agree we need a quality mid, if we can get one (im not sure we can)
Luke ball would be ok as kirky only has about 6 more good years in him.
(i love you kirky)
Think we are looking ok tho. Cant wait for 2010.Comment

Was thinking last night that unless they draft more indigenous footy players this year, we have only one indigenous player on our list. That would be both stupid in terms of what we are missing out on and very weird compared to the profile of other clubs. Personally, I don't like it one bit.He had observed that people who did lie were, on the whole, more resourceful and ambitious and successful than people who did not lie.Comment

Hopefully the only players we target are via the pre season draft. Can't afford to trade away early draft picks."As everyone knows our style of football is defensive and unattractive, and as such I have completely forgotten how to mark or kick over the years" - Brett Kirk
