Could W. Carey be an assistant at the swans in 2010?

Just a thought really but with all the talk that Wayne Carey could possibly get into coaching next season shouldn't the swans be on the phone to see if he would consider coming to the us? He is great mates with John Longmire and a NSW boy so we could be a chance to snare him i would hope!

I'm not certain who our forward coach is this year but i for one wouldn't mind Jesse White, Lewis Johnston and even Goodesy learning how to play the key forward role from a champion like Carey. The word is that he has an excellent footy brain too, but just wondering whether he has sorted himself out off the field and will have no more incidents like he's had in the past. Fingers crossed that we go for him and he is keen!

Sydney is in super need of a forward coach with the footy nous of Carey. I'm not sure if he is the correct choice, he might have tooo big a head to work with Horse and Roos. I'd love to get James Hird.

One thing is for sure, being a good mate of Paul Roos will help.

Doubt Carey qualifies in that count.
"As a player he simply should not have been able to do the things he did. Leo was a 185cm, 88kg full-back and played on some of the biggest, fastest and best full-forwards of all time, and constantly beat them." Roos.
Leo Barry? you star! We'll miss ya, ''Leapin''.

Lockett, Hird, O'Loughlin, I'd take all three over Carey. He's just got too much baggage, you know?

Yep i agree. No dickheads should extend to the coaches. Would be a great way to kill the bloods ethos.

Interesting thought, I hadn't even considered that. Do you think Mick would be much good as a coach though? So much of his ability was instinctive, he never really seemed like his ability came through careful planning, he just had it. You can't teach talent. That's not to say he wouldn't have anything to offer, but there would probably be better options. Love to have him if Roosy and co thought he was up to it though!
Officially on the Reid and Sumner bandwagon!

Gee I love the sanctimony of some of the posters on here. Something about people living in glass houses springs to mind.

Did anyone see Carey's interview last night on Footy Classified? Different person to the one I have seen previously. He is only moderately interested in coaching in a specialist role. So, like so many threads at the moment, the question bears little resemblance to reality.

They seem pretty keen to embrace him down at Arden Street so I'd expect he'd pop up there, although Chris Scott might have other ideas.
I'd welcome him with open arms so long as there wasn't any glassware in the vicinity.

Some people really talk crap. He'd be a fantastic forwards coach.

                      Carey is a wanker.

I could see worse things happening. Interesting to see how many Ex-North players join us in the coaching spots.

Yeah, we have three of them. Didn't North value what they had on tap at the time? I like all of them, and am a real fan of Brett Alison.

It's very hard to live in a studio apartment in San Jose with a man who's learning to play violin. That's what she told the police when she handed them the empty revolver.

Sorry darl, they don't make enough red & white to make that happen for Carey.

I don't think I'd trust him around the WAGs.
