Just heard on SEN a rumour that fev to swans for o'keefe in a direct swap. A year ago youd think possible but they are both in long term contracts. You gotta love this time of the year with all these rumours!

I know it's just a nonsense rumour, but I'd hate to have to watch the petulant sook every week, hoping this might be the time he decides to be a team player!

I'd hate to lose O'Keefe, but in Fev you also get a potential match winner off his own boot. If his head is right, there are few if any forwards better then him in the game. I don't believe the rumour for a sec, but it would certainly be something you would have to seriously consider if it were to be true.

O'Keefe is a great player but honestly I think we should seriously consider trading him. With where we are at in this point in time an extra first round pick would be extremely handy, and O'Keefe probably won't be around for our next flag tilt.

          Same goes for Jude Bolton.

          Just my opinion.

We would be well in front in that deal. It's rubbish though.

Fev - great full forward - otherwise complete dill. Can't see him fitting in.
Mind you the rumour is also total BS.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

Wish I had AFL rumours on the radio to listen to all day.

No way would Carlton would trade Fev anymore. I'd trade O'Keefe for a first round draft pick if he wanted to go though

And when does your opinion think we going for the flag?? Beyond 2012 I would agree with you. If we make a run before then Pebbles would be an excellent match for a Swans teams with not much finals experience.
Who would you seriously like to get for Pebbles? Picks or KPP or ....

If we were really really lucky we might get to draft the next JON. Or McDougall. Or Sampi. Or Cole. Or Egan (Chris), Clarke (either Xav or Raph), or Ryley Dunn.

Hey, I'm convinced. Let's dump Goodsey and Jolly too!

You get it Liz..I get it Liz.

Went back through the draft where Cooney was the number 1 pick..it was said to be a shallow draft like thisone is rumoured to be...shallow it was hideous. No way should we trade good players.

But a three year deal for Seaby runs the risk of him becoming a list clogger in 12-24 months, especially if Currie comes on like we hope he will. Currie could play initially as a forward. (He's not a defender but plonked in the goal square could be effective.) But ultimately he has "ruckman" written all over him.

I am averse to the Swans even contemplating giving the Wet Toasters anything more than a 3rd rounder for him. I'd prefer to see them ask him to nominate for the PSD and us take our chances (though Richmond and Melbourne might well find him appealing if he comes that cheap). In general I think clubs deserve to be compensated for losing players but I don't think West Coast really deserve anything given their refusal to even play him.
Jolly looked completely toasted by the end of the year so you could understand why they might look for short term back up. And I remember a round 1 game vs the Weagles a few years back when Seaby smacked Jolly, so he's not a complete hack.

BUt surely even from Seaby's perspective it doesn't make sense - he wants more game time but he'd clearly play second fiddle to a fit Jolly for the next 3 years you'd think, in which time hopefully one of the young fellas has proven his worth.

Unless they see something of him as a tall frwd option that pinch hits in the ruck (and I don't beleive he's ever played that role), I just don't see this trade stacking up for any party.
