Few rumors floating around that swans have offered Kennedy & Mcglynn 3 year deals. Hawks are happy to sit down and discuss a suitable trade.

Maybe Jolly could be apart of this trade OR our 2nd rounder and another player?

I really want Kennedy, this guy will be a gun!

Time to do some list maths.

Thus far it looks like we've lost (or very likely to lose) 8 senior listed players from 2009:

Barry, Crouch, Magic, Hall, Fosdike, Kennelly, Buchanan, Jolly.

We've added one for sure (Seaby), Kennedy and/or McGlynn look like probables and if we trade Jolly to the Pies we'll probably get another player too. Talk that the Hall trade might happen sooner rather than later suggests possibly a player is involved rather than picks, given how far apart the clubs seemed to be on their pick valuation.

So that could be up to 5 player additions. Plus Roos says he's after another ruckman.

Will be surprised if Thornton doesn't get promoted, and at least one of Pyke or Orreal. Possibly both will given someone elsewhere seems pretty sure that Orreal has been told he'll be on the senior list next year. I find that quite surprising but the source says they've heard it from the horse's mouth.

So we might already be back up to a full quota of players, and that is assuming two of Goodes, Kirk, JBolts get listed as veterans and hence our senior list stays at 40.

That suggests at least three young Swans still have a bit to be nervous about over the next week or three.

If that's the case - Hall, O'Loughlin, Davis, Leo etc should all still be on the list.

2005 was great but we have to move on. I want to win another one, not hang off that last one forever.
No, but a little bit of loyalty wouldn?t go astray. He?s in our best 22 in 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010 when fit (its not his fault he?s been injured over the last couple of years) and will walk into the lions side notwithstanding that their side will probably touch us up again next year. Instead of a one club premiership player he?ll have to player a couple of seasons for the lions. I would have much preferred to cheer him off with kirky and others in a year or so.

If it makes roosy feel better by saying that then so be it. He said the same for schnieder a couple of years ago too.

Buchanan was going nowhere this year and he had trade bait written all over him. Well done to the club, it's never easy getting rid of blokes who led you to premiership glory but short term pain for long term gain as they say.

On Jolly, would everyone be satisfied to send him to the Hawks for McGlynn and Kennedy?

Not even remotely. Would North give us McIntosh for, say, Smith and Moore?

i'm happy we got Seaby as i think he will be a handy player but i'm not happy we gave up pick 22! I don't think it was needed for a player who couldn't get a game all year.

He's only about to turn 27. He'll play for another 4-5 years. He's borderline in our best 22 I reckon and certainly hasn't been the same player he was in '05 and '06, for the last 3 seasons.

I'd probably take that. Would prefer Pick 9 + Kennedy though.

                              No

Kennedy looks OK so far but it depends on how much improvement he has in him, he may end up a handy player but the Hawks aren't willing to offer him 2 years which says something

McGlynn is a goer but I don't think he has any improvement left in him.

While I wouldnt mind either as bit parts of a trade, neither of them are the fast outside midfielders with silky skills that we require to take us to a premiership.

If Jolly is to go then we need to take advantage of the opportunity to import some serious young talent while we still can. This means a 1st round draft pick and preferably some topping (maybe a Kennedy type).

To put it in perspective, if you were to trade for either of these players in isolation then Kennedy is probably worth 2-3rd round and Mcglynn 3rd - 4th round. Josh Gibson is worth a 2nd and 3rd round pick
