We should definitely look at Pearce. Not for too much though. I'd throw a 5th round pick at Westhoff.

Despite his inconsistency, Port would rightly demand a first round pick for Pearce so it will be a short discussion at trade week.

I'd like us to somehow get another second round pick so we have 3 picks inside the top 30. Buchanan may be an option and he has the hardness which could make him attractive to a club like Port and a few others.

We should look at Pearce, but I agree they'd want too much. I'd be happy to give up a 2nd round draft pick for him, and it'd still be relatively high at that, but certainly not our first pick.... would they fall for Schmidt + our 2nd pick for him?

I'd rather keep Schmidt than get Westhoff. I rate Westhoff as a potentially decent third tall, but he simply doesn't have the frame, regardless of how much meat he's got hanging off it, to be a power forward. Schmidt has shown great ability at AFL level, and only injuries have kept him out. While it's a long-shot whether he'll come good again, I don't think I could bear to see him go to another club and suddenly realise his potential. I'd be happy for him, but sad at the same time, because I really like him as a player.

Raines looking to leave Richmond

Now here's a player that seems to fit rather well with the Swans philosophy of taking out of favour players and making them stars.

Personally, I would think he would make a great fit into the Swans backline, teaming up with Smith, allowing both Shaw and Mattner to run in the midfield. Adds a lot more pace to the Swans attack than he brings himself.

Also allows us to take someone other than Rohan in the draft and go for a inside ball winning skilled midfielder, like Lucas, Martin or Cunnington. I think Roos has suggested this would be his preference anyway, but adding Raines, or if Kennelly returns, it would make that decision that much easier.

I'd take him because he has talent but he's not worth what they'll ask for IMO.

Would like to keep our first 2 picks so that obviously limits our options.

If we trade Hall to the Dogs, perhaps we could swap for Mal Lynch. Bit of a nothing trade but he would be a handy type if he came good.

The other one I wouldn't mind is Staker (ducks head!). I know he is soft but he has real talent and a bit of x factor about him. If we could do a Rhys Shaw type deal then it would be worth the risk.

Wouldn't mind seeing him trialled as a permanent forward pocket as he is good off the packs, chases hard and is canny around goals. Kicked 10 in a TAC preliminary final which is no mean feat

At 26 I don't see where he fits into our next premiership but as trade value, he may be exactly what some other teams are looking for.

Tend to agree. I've been a big fan but he has struggled for 3 seasons and his best footy may be behind him.

If a trade can't be done, I'd prefer to keep him, rather than de-list him though.

Buchanan should be played as a small forward, full stop. If it works great, if not then delist him.

I too reckon Staker could be a good option. Would like to see him as a 3rd defensive tall.
