Heard Pelchin from Hawthorn on SEN this morning state that Hawthorn are not interested in Darren Jolly and that Shaun Burgoyne is there no.1 priority and were reasonably confident in getting that over the line.

He stated the Hawthorn ruck stocks were not in a dire situation since Campbells retirement and they would address the ruck issue later in the week once they had finalised the Burgoyne deal.

The guy from the Herald Sun, whose name escapes me, also stated that he was confident the Collingwood - Jolly trade would get done, with pick 14 and a fringe player thrown in.

Also forgot to add that Pelchin also stated that we were interested in Josh Kennedy and that Josh has expressed an interest to move, however our offer was not yet acceptable, but obviously some discussions had taken place.

If we do get Mumford and Jolly does piss off back to Melbourne perhaps Currie will now be coached as our new Kurt Tippett like Full Forward.

Currie has hands of an absolute Vice, athletic and kicking for goal will need a bit of work but i think it's very possible for him to play this role.

I have no doubt Currie will play a fair bit of his footy up forward.

SEN said that the Hall deal will be done this morning. Not the most reliable source though, so make of that what you will.

My bet is that we gave in and did Hall + 54 for their 3rd rounder (47?)

                Done. Third Rounder

Apparently we gave them 2 late draft picks as well...still to be determined

According to Herald Sun, Hawks are cooling off on Burgoyne and starting to get interested in Jolly.

If that is indeed the case can they give us the draft pick + Kennedy?

Just a couple of my thoughts

The minimum from the Pies for Jolly should be Pick 14 and Wellingham/Dick as both of these would suit us. Brown/Reid/Beams would be better but I can't see the Pies parting with them.

If all they offer is pick 14 we should hold fast and not do the deal, nor should we throw any later draft picks back to them unless they are the token ones from the Dogs (i.e. 50+)

I don't see the point in chasing Mumford if Jolly leaves, agree with earlier sentiments that Seaby and current support should be enough. Particularly for an early draft pick like the Cats fans expect.

If we trade pick 28 for Kennedy and McGlynn, we really don't rate this draft!!!

Hopefully Fev isn't on our radar unless we trade Jolly and Carlton are willing to accept pick 14 only, in which case we would be paying unders

Also hope that we don't stock up on a heap of mid tier players because it wont take us to our next premiership

Is Mumford still in contract? Cats fans seems pretty upset about losing him and it seems he can play a bit of defence as well. I wouldn't mind landing him (I am working from the basis - controversial on this forum - that Pyke and Orreal are not senior standard yet) but at what cost?

You could argue we won our 2005 flag with plenty of middle tier players. Agree we don't need to stock up on them, and surely we're only chasing one of either Kennedy or McGlynn?

I am losing track of what picks we have and how many we need. But what chance we trade Moore or Barlow before the week's out for a high third / low second round pick? e.g to Norf or Carlton as has been rumoured.

Agree that Pyke and Orreal are not yet up to senior standard. I thought we basically played 1 man short when Pyke played and it cost us in a few games. I don't know what level of improvement he has in him in 2010. Orreal doesn't seem to be anywhere near ready. My view is that if Currie is injured then we'll need LRT/Richards to pinch hit. Alternatively, we find someone in the VFL/SANFL on the cheap

Not sure about your 05 flag comment, we had the following who I consider top tier players at that time: Goodes, Williams, Hall, Micky O, Kennely, Ball, C Bolton. More talent then we have now. We've actually topped up with mid tier players since then.

Leon Davis wants out of Melbourne, and David Wojcinski is also on offer.
                          Thoughts?

Leon wants to head back to Perth
                            Wojinski is to old

Yes to Leon but there is no chance.

I agree with that. But hopefully our top tier players at the time of our next window will be McVeigh, Hannebury, Veszpremi, White, Johnson, Meredith, Bird plus a couple of high draftees from this year.
