Hawks refuse to rule out Hall

An interesting story that may raise our hopes of getting something for our premiership captain.

Hawthorn a shock suitor for forward Barry Hall | Herald Sun

I don't know where I'd prefer him to go - I didn't want him to leave in the first place.
"It's up to the rest of the players in the room to make a new batch of premiership players next year," Adam Goodes, triple Bob Skilton Medallist, October 7, 2011.

I didn't want him to go either.

    I hope he plays again.

Quite extraordinary. I'm not sure how furious the bidding war would be but a second round pick or a third round pick with Roos identifying a suitable young player would seem like an outstanding result.

i was reading earlier that they like the idea of hall, franklin and roughead. if that's the case, there's no chance of a roughie trade.

At the moment he has zero trade value. If only one club has even fleeting interest he has zero trade value. As soon as more than one club "might be" interested, no-one (Hall nor the clubs) can completely rely on the PSD. If Hall has a choice and a preference, it might net us an upgrade on a pick (maybe our 4th for the Dogs 3rd) or something similar. Can't see the club expecting much more than that.

They would be one of the last clubs I would have thought would be interested in Hall. It's not even insurance for Franklin or Roughhead leaving as he's got 2 years MAX left in him.

Strange. Probably just stirring the pot.

Spot on. We got rid of him, so I can't see any club giving us much for him.

Look at that article - just complete guessing from another hack journo in Mark Stevens. No direct quotes from any club officials. Treat it with the contempt it deserves.

It's all about getting him to the club he wants. Rather than him risking the PSD.

A low pick wouldn't be bad to get for him.

I might attract a few scathing rebuttles from a few, but I for one am glad big Barry has left us.

Over the last 2 years, he provided little value and I use to cringe at the way he use to carry on towards umpires. Too often he would have a brain snap, which somewhat limited our chances to win some winnable games.

Even if Barry provides a small amount of bargaining power during the trade period thats a win for us.

I can't see why the Hawks would want him or why we'd want to keep him.

The only teams that could use him are really the Bulldogs and perhaps Essendon?
