Just grabbed a copy of Inside Football who in the past seem to have good draft info.
Pick 6 they say we're tossing up between Rohan, Butcher and Jetta but we'll probably take Rohan.
Butcher is unlikely to make it past Poor Power's picks at 8 & 9 or Tankers at pick 11 but if Jetta isn't taken by Weagles at pick 7 he may still be there for us at 14.
I'd still like Kane Lucas or Daniel Talia but don't reckon they'll last until 14.
Full first round picks in Inside Footy
1 Trengove
2 Scully
3 Martin
4 Morabito
5 Cunnington
6 Gary Rohan - ''blistering speed, good foot skills and athleticism that is off the charts'' mmmm, liking that
7 Jetta
8 Butcher
9 Melksham
10 Stevens
11 Black
12 Talia
13 Kane Lucas - ouch
14 Jasper McMillan-Pittard -said to have made such an impression on the Swans recruiters that Roos said ''#$@% drafting him, just appoint him as Assistant Coach''The guy can really play as well

With Noggy and Henry off, we now have only 32 players (hopefully Bradshaw will make 33). According to my calculations that gives us 5 picks in the ND without moving Goodes and Kirk to outside veterans. Am I right on this one? Those who have the greatest power to hurt us are those we love.Comment

It will be either 4 or 5 at the draft and 1 for pre-season.
I reckon 1 of those in the draft will be for a recycled player or Ablett back onto the list.

Just had a thorough look at the list and only three notable ommissions, Bradshaw, McPhee and J McDonald which means those three expect to get picked up by specific clubs in the PSD, McDonald by Tankers pick 1, McPhee by Freo pick 3 and Bradshaw by us pick 5.
Wretchmond pick 2 and Norf pick 4 will obviously have targets other than those three although only McDonald is safe of course.
Melbourne will now have to use pick 18 if they want Luke Ball as the other three interested clubs have picks between 26 and 30 to grab him.
I reckon somewhere around pick 50 up is where a numer of other recycles will go. The best of them are Mitch Thorp (pick 50 Tankers), Matt McGuire (pick 59 Carton), Rhan Hooper (pick 51 or 67 Wretchmond), Simon Buckley (pick 53 Norf), Jesse Smith (pick 46 or 58 Hawthorn).
If we are interested in any of these, we're well placed with picks 54 & 55. If we want Ablett and/or Playfair back, we'll move the veterans and grab thm PSD, wouldn't want to waste picks 54 and 55 on those two when they are free in the PSD.Comment

I would really like to see any of Jamie McNamara, Mitch Thorp, Nick Lower or Jesse Smith in Swans colours next season.
What are our draft picks again? I couldn't keep up with trade week.Comment

Theoretically we have one more, somewhere in the 80s but we will need to pass on that to keep a spot on the list for Bradshaw (or delist another player or change the status of Kirk or Goodes).Comment

We've interviewed NSW/ACT Rams captain Dylan McNeil. Most phantom drafts having him going late in the ND.

We also have pick 81 that we have to use on promoting thornton to the senior list. It's an new AFL initiative to give some spotlight to those rookies officially promoted to an AFL list. Every club is using their 80s, 90s picks for this purpose.Comment

38 seems a little too high for McNamara and the others I mentioned (Sans Nick Lower whom I'd rather rookie) but gee I hope if any are still around at 54/55 we take the chance.Comment
