Based on the pick St Kilda gave for him, our pick 14 would have been more like it had Roos and co still been interested in him. We actually landed up getting a Lovett-like player with that pick 14 - ultra quick wingman/midfielder, same rangy running style, same slight build that looks like it will never bulk up very much, hopefully same penetrating kicking ability (and probably skills that will be flashy at times but may be a little inconsistent, if the YouTube highlights are anything to go by).

Hindsight is a wonderful thing CS.

I was keen at the time, but glad as hell right now that he's not our problem.

Some of the problems these guys have in Melb is @@@@heads hassling them when they go out, which I suspect is not so prevalent in Sydney (could be very wrong about that). But I'm not certain that's Lovett's issue anyway.
To all those people who waited 72 years to see a South Melbourne/Sydney Swans premiership HERE IT IS!!

Remember the old sayimg; you can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear.

        or

Once a tool always a tool.

Saints are now one player down.

Carlton 4 players down. It sounds from all reports that Carlton is in disarray.

But if he is innocent , then they'd be bound to take him back.
I do not pre-judge the outcome , but does anybody know when a current footballer in any of the major Australian codes ever get found guility of such a charge ??

He hasn't been charged as YET.

The last player I know who was charged with sexual assault was AFL's very own toilet duck Wayne Carey in January 1996 after he groped a unknown women as he left a night club drunk. He was found guilty and given a 12 month good behaviour bond.

No, but there are quite a few in rugby league that came very close as well.

Attached is an interesting article on women's rights.

Green Left is not-for-profit, activist media, carrying the news, analysis & debates of environmental and social justice campaigns and movements.

I was thinking in terms of custodial sentences - sorry , I did not make that at all clear.

The mail down in the sporting capital is the bloke is in heaps of trouble.

Whatever the outcome it appears a number of St Kilda players have refused to play with him. The alleged assault happened at the home of another St Kilda player, and it is reported with other St Kilda players present (innocent parties). This is big news that aint going away for some time.

If it is a serious charge (ie. rape) and goes to trial, it won't be determined for at least twelve months.

Would be interesting to see how he is dealt with in the meantime. What happened with the NBA player who was charged with rape?
