He is quick on the lead, as strong an overhead mark as anybody in the club (ROK included) and can kick goals from outside 50 as well.

Just on his body. He had his usual hamstring problems earlier in the year but appeared to overcome them (admittedly, overcome them yet again) and was playing footy to a level which would have him knocking on the door for senior selection. He then hurt his bloody ankle in a marking contest in the ressies played the day after the Bulldogs game. . Again he fought back and his form late in the season was again real good. I guess my point was the mid season injury was not his troublesome hamstring which may give hope for the future in regards to him standing up to the rigours of AFL.

As I said, if DOK is retained and Laidlaw delisted, I will be extremely disappointed and I doubt any regular watcher of the ressies would see it any different.
As a regular ressies watcher, I wholeheartedly agree with your Laidlaw over DOK perspective. But personally, i'd like to see them both retained.

Why hasn't Spangher done better by now? Anyone?
Goose is a hack. He is as loose as granny's teeth and he walks around like a lost soul saying, "where'd he go, where'd he go. For a backman his size he is just knocked off the ball too easily in a one on one contest.

What we need still is a biggish natural defender to assist Craig Bolton and a dynamic i.e. quick, crumbing forward.

We also need an in form Malceski, or say O'Dwyer or Meredith to take up the wide/ball carrying role.

McGlynn and Kennedy are both in and under so we still need the run/carry types.

You said it buddy, although speculating on who will get delisted and not is a little unsavoury, so wait and see

I did look at the potential draftees for us on You Tube yesterday, and thought you would be happy with Cunnington, Martin or Gary Rohan who looks that sort. But who knows

I reckon DOK will survive, off the back of injuries

That said you hope the clubs is looking into why so many young guys are struggling with injury?

For what it's worth, definately not, whilst Rioli has a good big game reputation, history says come preliminary finals these types are useless. All you had to do was listen to C/wood fans booing Leon Davis, Milne in the GF

Whilst I think these are handy H & A and many supporters love eye candy footballers, come Prelim and GRand finals you would prefer the Jared Moore's and Amon Buchanan's. When there's heat, they won't get out of the kitchen

Tony Evan's was another classic of this type

Stick with the strong bodied ones. I don't want to turn into the Fremantle Dockers

Would be happy with a Dynamic half forward

He was a well respected junior as well, worth the gamble in my opinion (although I do fear where he went to school may upset Reggi!).

His age helps a lot too because it fits in with our trading strategy of the week. If we had signed Fev or Lake I'd say "great, go hard for Ball" but the reality is we didn't. I think Ball is the pick talent wise of the crop, but the midfield's pretty covered.

The only outside is that I thought he wanted to go home to Victoria, would Sydney be close enough?
I very much agree with all you said there. If he does indeed leave the Coast we should reunite him with Seebs.

Don't want any of them. We have a full list. Time to bring in the kids. We'll need them more in a cple of years. We have two 1st rd picks, let's use them on some future talent.

If we had to, I'd go Tuck or Coughlan (Not on list but should be available) for 4th rd pick.

Just knocked up a quick list of where team lists are at, just to keep myself amused.

Looking at how high up teams draft picks are and how many changes they have already made to their list (there is a minimum 4 required by the AFL), by my reckoning there will be further delistings of this order

                      Melb two
                      North two
                      Port one
                      Essendon three
                      Carton three
                      Adelaide four
                      WB four
                      Geelong four
                      Brisane four
                      Collingwood three
                      St.Kilda three

Have a look at the current team lists and it makes you wonder who will get the chop from some of the stronger teams

I tend to agree with this assessment. Most PSD picks are a bit speculative unless there is a 'disgruntled star' scenario such as Nick Stevens or Ball (potentially). Bringing in a delisted player could prevent a youngster from getting valuable game time.

If anything our forward line looks a bit inexperienced with the departure of Hally and MOL. Part of me thinks offering Russell Robertson an incentive based contract for a year or two could be beneficial from an instructive perspective, but it really seems that we have a pretty exciting list at the moment that should already provide fierce competition for spots.

The last pre season draft pick we used was Craig Bolton in 2002 so going by recent history it's unlikely we'll be using it this year.

We have not had this sort of money available in a long time, though. Hell, probably not since the mid-90s when we picked up the likes of Osborne, Brereton and Roos in the PSD.

No coincidence that it was 2002 we picked up Bolton in the PSD - the last time we missed the finals.

The PSD is for bottom 8 teams - no point participating when there are 8+ teams ahead of you competing for perhaps 1-5 decent players available.
