I just wish he'd hurry up and make a call one way or the other. I'm getting sick and tired of the speculation. ZZZZZzzzzzz.

So was I. He's been sick. He had a little birdy flu.

      All's ok now.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.

It takes a certain amount of skill and capacity to read the game to do that stuff - I remember people howling down the suggestion that Big Mike could just slot into the role, and they were right to do so. And if you're launching a counter-attack, as LRT often did in '09, it's fine by me if he's getting to the ball easily first.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

LOL... If launching a "counter attack" means hand-balling to Shaw, I suppose you're right.

Actually he has pretty good foot skills and his delivery out of the backline quite often sets things up. It's only when he tries to overthink things and gets confused does he look unco

Liz, you love to ride high on the horse.
Tadhg has been publicly pontificating about greener pastures, both when he was here and now in Ireland, for the last 3 years. I'm not demanding a decision...I'm asking for silence until a decision is made.

How many interviews with him have you heard where he has raised the topic himself ?
Before you criticize a man, walk a mile in his shoes. That way you'll be a mile away and he'll be shoeless.

So having a different view point is riding the high horse?

This is his livelihood, his career, his lifestyle that is at stake. For us it is just something to discuss while we wile away our spare time.

Those who are "sick of the whole saga" can easily ignore it until it is resolved. If they choose.

                  Just my point of view.

                    as Jefferson said

"Dissent is the highest form of patriotism"

go Liz, Primmy and BSA5........keep this debate honest.....i love your constant craving of supporting a backline that came 12th in the comp !

I must say though despite us having a handy backline........I am all for onward and upward improvement............ so yes there has been incremental improvement in some players but it was clear as day the difference Shaw made with his zippy counter attack. what a breath of fresh air he was as the season kept going and he settled in and helped our counter attack.

Look at the difference Rioli made to the Hawks........what outstanding young player

For me debating the backline at the Swans needs to involve acknowledging that we would improve our backline dramatically by having another strike player off HB or BP.........Tag is probably one of the few available that can do that as well as man mark in defence over an above what we have now.....

But hey the coaching panel would be mad to continue to keep negotiating in this area.......

You seem to have interpreted my stance as being anti-Kennelly returning. Nothing could be further from the truth. He was one of my favourite players and he was hugely important to the success we had a few years ago. He straightened us up coming out of defence (something that Shaw doesn't really do, despite his work rate and his footspeed).

But if he returns, it has to be because he wants to and because he and the club think he is physically up to it. And these things take time to work through - which I suspect he and the club have been working through for some considerable time.

I am just a little bemused at the demands of some posters that the decision is made in a time frame to support their impatience, rather than in the time frame that both he and the club deem necessary to make sure the right decision has been reached, for him and the club.

As I've already said, he has been publicly pontificating 'going home' for years, which in turn gets the press going. Not the other way around.

                          1) No, having a different view point isn't riding the high horse....but declaring that people on here who are sick of this publicity seeking saga as; "sitting at their keyboards demanding decisions in their time frame", is to make incorrect assumptions with an air of all knowing superiority.

2)"His livelyhood, career and lifestyle are at stake".. Please.. we're talking about coming back to Australia for a few years of earning big money playing footy. Hardly earth shattering.

3)When I and others comment on this story being long in the tooth we, well me anyway, are not fussed by this being discussed on the boards, and are not criticising you or others for discussing it.

                          4) We can also comment on it, if we choose...if that's ok with you.

You think I don't think our backline could be improved? Please. Kennelly would be a welcome addition, but LRT has nothing to do with that (being a key defender and all), and you're bagging of him is completely off the mark.
Officially on the Reid and Sumner bandwagon!
