You don't ban those who supported your opponent, you make them wallow in their loserdom by covering your victory! You sit them in the front row. You give them a hat! Toby Ziegler

Some things at the footy stick in the memory forever. I walked in a bit late at our first ressies game this year and here was this kid in #4 cruising around the field making everybody else look like rank amateurs. At half time I went down for a chat with Big Bad - he'd already hitched up the horses to the wagon, climbed into the drivers seat and was so excited I thought he was going to wet himself.

Understandable that he tailed off at the end of the year, going to school, not training properly and travelling up from Bleak City every week was always going to take it's toll. But a super talent.

I can't wait to see what he can deliver next year.

Great start for the young man in 2009 and his early career form should EGG him on to bigger and better things in 2010!

Will his reputation take a batterying next year? Very cagey!

Was excited (notice the correct spelling) about this young man.

Disappointed about the muck up day stuff..but that's the teacher in me coming out. So following the herd stuff.

The team's first or his first for the reserves? - I don't believe they were the same game.

I clearly remember what I thought was his first game, part way through the year. He was decidedly underwhelming in the first quarter. Not to the extent of making hasty judgements, but he looked nervous and although he got a few touches, most of them were ineffective.

And then he came out after the quarter time huddle and started to dominate. Pretty much everything he did was spot on and he got plenty of it too. He made veterans of the team of two or three years look very second rate. It was quite a remarkable transformation over a five minute break.

He then carried on in that same vein for the rest of that match, and for the other couple of Sydney reserves games he played before earning his promotion.

So funny. I still remember getting the SMS from Big Bad. "DAN HANNEBERRY (sp) IS A STAR"

Was on the golf course, and I thought wtf is he talking about.

Lets just hope the love child killer doesn't strike. There have been a few that Triple B has killed in the past, but this one looks the goods.

                    Oh yeah, rating.

I'll give him a 7. And for a bit of excitement, I see a bit of Greg Williams in this kid, but a better kick. Agro, which is good. Superb ball skills, not quick, but always manages to be where the ball is.

Solid start. Didn't "blow me away" with his skills or contribution but he LOOKS like he has all the attributes of being a great footballer. Only took a game or two to adapt to the pace of the game and was composed under pressure. Can't wait to see him in full flight next year with a full pre-season under his belt.

If you can't devote the whole of the week to getting the training regime right, then naturally I'd expect that over the course of the season your fitness is not going to stand up as well as others. To say he is a one paced midfielder is pushing it a bit far to say the least. Lets see what happens when he gets a full pre season and a season under his belt where he is training full time with the squad and not focused on other things simultaneously. If we egg him on properly, who knows what he could become.
Perfectly rational explanation - hope you're right!! Don't need to place the yolk of responsibility on him at this age.

                          I gave him a 9.

Did more than anyone hoped to achieve for a school boy on the limited opportunities he got.

Who cares about the muck up day stuff? Has nothing to do with his season.

Hell if he ramapaged through a park and poled some kids, then it still wouldn't apply to his season and the topic in question.

Are we rating their seasons based on our expectation, or this season compared to previous, or against the rest of the team (this is how I tend to vote)?

I agree with Chilcott here on 9/10 against expectations but when compared to say Pebbles season he is no where near a 9/10.

I vote on individual performance if that helps.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

What? 10 is the best season they could ever have and 1 the worst?
So say Teddy had a blinder and you gave him a 9. Goodes played a much better season than Ted but not his best would get maybe a 7.
or look at it another way,
all those giving Hanners a 9 this year, if he improves next year does he get a 10?

I want to vote using the same critieria as everyone else
