For those not sure about this, the totals below are goals kicked over the last two seasons; that's right, Bradshaw on his own has kicked more goals (by 1!) than Hall and O'loughlin combined. Yep, I know they've both missed games in that period but Bradshaw has averaged more goals per game than either as well.

Based on the way this article reads, I think the Swans recruiting team plus Ireland, Roos and Bolts are to be congratulated for a great effort to beat out Carlton. Having lived in Brisbane for a few years, I know that selling Sydney as a better destination than Melbourne can be a tough ask.

Despite other's reservations in this thread about Bradshaw's age and potential injuries, I think this is a really great win for us. IMO, you simply can't factor in the potential for injuries for the average player (i.e. unless we're talking someone with repeated chronic injuries) ... Bradshaw could breakdown in round 1 but so could our top draft pick.

Yep, great stats - to put it another way, Bradshaw, as 2nd banana at Brissie, would have won our goal kicking award by a mile over both those years. His recent goal-kicking stats:

2009: 58.21
2008: 75.31
2006: 59.39
2005: 42.21
2004: 40.13

If we get 50 goals from him next year, it's hard to see how we're not winning enough games to make the finals.

Excellent evidence of how good Bradshaw's signing is. We badly needed to strengthen the forward line and he seems the perfect fit for us at this point in time.

On a side note, I lost a bit of respect for Voss in his treatement of Bradshaw.

Agreed, whilst it may just be bravado of sorts I did think it was a little bit unreasonable- I wonder if perhaps Voss was more hurt by Bradshaw's decision than a coach would normally be because of their history of playing together?

I can picture Vossy having dinner with his wife and spotting a lady across the room, saying "excuse me honey, I'd really rather take her home", going over and engaging in some discussion at the other table and then coming back and saying "well I tried to broker a wife swap but in the end I get to take both of you home instead, this'll be a night for the memoirs!" then as his wife storms out of the restaurant calling out "honey, honey- don't be so selfish!".

Exactly. After everything he was to that club......its like "here's your hat, what's your hurry". I don't get it. There is such a thing as loyalty to your best players! Good for us mind you, but still....

How exciting!!! We have a 3 time premiership player coming to our club next year. It could be the difference between us making the finals and not. Bradshaw won just as many games as J.Brwon did off his own back for the lions. Look at the success of former Brisbane Lion Jason Akermanis' move to the Doggies, promising signs for the Swans. By the way, does anybody know what compensation the Lions got for Aker whilst on that topic?
