Bradshaw a Swan

My sentiments exactly. It's remarkable how so many people are investing so much hope in Bradshaw.

'So much hope' - hardly. No-one has stated that he's going to take us to a flag or anything like that, just that the vast majority of us think that he'll be a nice replacement for O'Loughlin while Jesse becomes the player we think he can be.

The same 'so much hope' argument can be put forward for the two kids. I'm a huge fan of Jesse but he's only played a handful of games and none of us have a clue what Johnston is capable of yet.

If the kids are good enough, they will get a game.

We'll have injuries anyway, so that sort of thing tends to sort itself out but the depth is very healthy. The fact that we're even arguing about this is exciting.

If he comes to Sydney, do you think they'll release Goodesy from forward duties?
I want to see Goodesy getting a better run around the paddock (if his body is up to it).

I thought his was only playing up forward to give his body a break (ok, and to plug a hole).

Hi Ive been thinking about this as well, I wouldnt have a clue what they intend to do but I would like to see Goodesy stay up forward. He was growing nicely into the role adding real value to our fwd setup and of course the opposition coach has to worry about the matchup.

IMHO its easier for opposition teams to tag / block him around the ground with sepcialist midfield taggers who are not all ideally suited to playing CHB.

Playing Goodes as a forward means the opposition has to assign a gun defender for Goodes & Bradshaw possibly leaving White with the 3rd tall, a situation Im sure our coaches would be happy with.

Im not saying Goodes should move completly away from the midfield role but spend more of his game time as a roving FWD possibly rotating with ROK in the MF.

I can't believe there is even a debate on this issue, the guy is a quality footballer, a proven goal kicker with a wonderful conversion rate, who has fallen into our laps for absolutely nothing.

There would be millions tearing up memberships, the suicide rate would double, and the mental institutions would all be full.

My only real though on the matter is how our drafting is regarded now, considering that there is a fair chance that the Swans knew that Bradshaw was a big chance to end up here for zilch.

Kinda moves us up a bit from a C+ I'd think.....

I don't think we knew he'd be coming up. Rather I don't think Voss knew just how upset his old Premiership mate would be about being used as trade bait. It will be interesting to see how well Brownola functions, but I think we've got the better of the deal.

It's so spectacular that one wonders if the old firm of Kirk and Roos are going for another shot at it in their last year at the club. But meanwhile, they look to be leaving the club in a very strong position into the future. Win-win is what it looks like.

That was a point I tried to make before. If Bradshaw was already on the list, would you delist him? No. And picking him up for free is basically the same thing.

Like has been said before me, I can hardly believe there is any discontent about Bradshaw coming.

If we had given up pick 6 or 14 or even a pick in the 20's there could be an argument.

He is coming for nothing, zero, zilch. Even his salary is largely irrelevant, we have to find a way to spend a fair chunk of our salary cap anyway.

There is no downside to this episode, end of story.
