the response letter has been drafted - and I ran it by ScottH, ORB (my defender!) & Annie - just awaiting Mr Mains email address and off it goes. No name calling, or being vindictive,a hint of sarcasm - certainly, just setting the record straight basically. I doubt I will get an apology but hey when has anyone in the media ever admitted they got the facts about someone they have written about completely wrong?.
I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure..................

Bottom line, his books a pretty ordinary and generally a cut and paste of his previous works. If you've read one, you've read them all.

And whilst it might be great to have a journo (And I use the term very loosely in this instance) that is "Pro" Swans, your credibility, even amongst Swans supporters, is very quickly destroyed when you can't distinguish fact from fiction and your own bias is so evident. See - Walls, Bartlett, Lane, etc, etc. as other examples

The pot needs to be stirred vigorously!!!
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

I dont have an old copy here and I'm certainly not going downstairs to buy one - so anyone have the email address or the Letters to the editor address?

            cheers

Would have to agree. His best book is the Encyclopedia of every South and Sydney player to ever play

Back to Kenny for a moment, am I correct in assuming that he has an official position at the club? I once went to training (on the lakeside oval) and he was there handing out drinks etc. I also have to put in a good word for him as he chatted to me, offered a seat and generally did his best to look after me (I was the only supporter there )

The one where he just cut and pasted data compiled by others and his journalistic input was limited to the foreword?? That was his best effort??? Now there's a surprise.....

I'm pretty sure he may have a "honorary official role".

And FWIW, I bag the @@@@ out of Kenny on a fairly regular basis but that doesn't mean I can't see what value he adds. And whilst Hatley seems like a bit of a knob to me (And I say that without ever having met him), You can't fault his passion and commitment. People that put in as much as to their footy club as these guys do, should be recognised by the club IMHO and not criticised by their fellow supporters (Piss taking on online forums excepted of course.. ).

Thats what i mean, its his best effort.
I will explain on Kenny, i find it very very annoying that when the PLAYERS sing the song he tries to be the centre of attention which is not what we want to see. As for Hately on the night of our first finals win in 96 against the Hawks back at Easts, he was jumping up and down on thje stage in front of the players and wouldn't get out the way. I have nothing personal against these two but get annoyed when they thing their part of the playing group, probably hard on the latter, but Kenny no.

Kenny sold his house in Melbourne and moved up to Sydney with the Swans.

He has housed and fed many a youngster and has been there from day one for the team (when the rest of Sydney weren't).

I bag him out constantly, but you just can't repay some of the stuff that Kenny has done for this team.

Kenny has been there for ever, and so have the girls and Moose (RIP). When we got to the grand final in 1996 the Club flew them down to Melbourne for the game in acknowledgement of their tenacious loyalty. They also gave them their named chairs behind the sticks. the Club holds them all in high esteem, they have been on the spot for a long long long time. Kenny is always at the club running the water at about every training session. He even did his hammy one year, which Mrs Kenny thought was eye rolling, and the boys thought it brilliant. Mr & Mrs Kenny do a lot behind the scenes and the Club respects and honours them for it. They were made life members not long ago. What we think is irrelevant.
