Hey Emma what did you think of Sydney's draft? who would you say the big winners were at this early stage?

Hi Tim. I loved Sydney's draft. I've always thought the Swans were a bit boring, but add Rohan and Jetta to Veszpremi and they have three really exciting anything-can-happen young players. Same for Dennis-Lane and Sumner and I'm a big Sam Reid fan. Need to have a more detailed look through it all this afternoon but thought North Melbourne and Essendon did well too.

The Geelong Falcons manager reckons Gary Rohan is the most exciting player he's ever seen... and this from a guy who nurtured Hodge, Bartell and Ablett Jr!

No need for tricks to get Rohan drafted

"Some AFL recruiters would have taken Gary Rohan at number one if they could have," Turner said.

"He's a great pick at number six."

Why not "Rocket Rohan" and "Jetstar"

Rohan will get Ranga. It's a given.

Have to decide on the others later.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

Must be a kick up the bum for Jarred Moore - had the opportunity to make the small forward position his own this season - now he's got potentially three more competing for the same spot.

I was thinking the same thing. Moore had the position covered being the right size, age, experience etc and he blew that chance. Now there are really good players challenging not just for his position on the field but for his position in the side. Very Healthy situation! I actually think he might be one of the first to lose his spot.

There's no way that Rohan and Jetta will be positioned in a forward pocket. Absolute waste.

                    Rohan's got to be Rooster.

All the other seem a bit contrived...like Sting though.

I share your sentiment Annie. I am so looking forward to season 2010. Time to show the tankers how you rebuild and keep your club's self respect and dignity (hello Carlton, Melbourne, St Kilda).

Interesting that with all the raving about Jetta's speed that Rohan, Reid and Dennis-Lane all recorded faster 20 meter sprint times. Don't know Sumner's time over 20 meters but he is rated as quick. Have we put turbo chargers on our Cortinas?

Jetta just doesn't run 20 metres in a match. He goes for 40-50 metre runs lightning quick the whole way, then actually goals. This will be a new experience for us Swans supporters, one that I intend to savour !!

That's a little unfair on Melb. I think that they have been, and continue to be, genuinely crap.

Imagine if you were drafted (shafted) by them and the fake excitement you would have to demonstrate at the news knowing the truth however that you got long hard years ahead in a crap club that can teach you nothing about winning.
