"Their drills are bloodless battles and their battles bloody drills"

Good to see them going hard during the preseason.[Mcveigh's comment about vomiting is probably a good sign ] I don't envy them for the amount of ground work that needs to be done before the new season begins.

(Keeping him in cotton wool until last Tuesday I suppose) All others were hard at it. Goodes obviously working as part of the forward line. Pyke working as part of the defensive team. Ruck drills being done by Currie, Mumford and Orreal. The most impressive forward appeared to be Playfair. Looked very fit and strong. I was surprised at how full on they were at this early stage. Lots of tackling and game day drills. Long kicking into the forward line to a leading Goodes and Playfair. McVeigh yelling lots of instructions and Mattner very apologetic for some poor passing. Kirk having a laugh and enjoying it all. ROK and the Boltons nowhere to be seen. Anyway, try and get along to one of the sessions.
I do like the sound of the practice of long kicking into the forward line. If we can speed up our play a bit from the middle (There were signs at times this year that it was beginning to happen) and big Jesse kicks on as we hope, then we are going to be very tough to stop. 3 big quality targets up forward to kick to is going to make life very tough for most teams to handle if we can provide them with reasonable service. If we can do that, we will beat a lot of teams and beat them well, especially at home at the SCG Bring on 2010!

Here are a few more photos from pre-season training, courtesy of the Hun. Sadly it is not pure Swans - you have to wade through half a dozen pictures of the Crows first. (Though it is worth lingering to have a giggle over number 4 - ouch?!)

Remains to be seen whether Mal can recapture his onfield mojo, but the pictures certainly bear out reports that he's been training hard. And young Bird looks like he's shed a bit of weight.

I told you that watching training with the shirtless and magnificent was a sight to behold.

Its girl time eye candy. Forget AFL, its just a beautiful sight. NicMal looks a-mazing, and as for Mike! Agree, Birdy looks like he has dropped a lot of waiste density. Oh my, I feel really challenged.

Thanks for the link Liz. I just might keep it in my bookmarks

No trust me, I have Pyke radar. About the last photo, way left, towards the back; looks like beach sand under water, ripple ripple ripple. Yes I know, vaguely pathetic, but I am enjoying myself.

They showed a few minutes on Ch 10 news tonight so should be repeated on One and late news.

Getting more excited about 2010. We haven't seen the team this fit at this stage of the season since I've been following the Swans (1996) as far as I am aware.

Less fatigue = More energy to be accurate for goal.

Is it just me or does McVeigh look like he has filled out his upper body.

Looks to have a lot more core strength through the shoulders than previous years.

                              He is looking super fit.
