What I really want to see is a PB from Pat Veszpremi. He seems to have a reputation with his peers as being a prima donna and I was not impressed with his footy after he was dropped to the ressies last year. I am starting to worry that he may be talented underachiever who will end up going nowhere.

Just went back over the telegraph picture site to find it has now expanded to 53 AFL boys (Nathan Buckley, number 17 has kept himself noice) some of which are just ..... wow , and they have culled out some of the Swans pics, including the MP one....I am disappointed.

The next time the Louvre is having a decent show I shall post a notice.

It would be good to see Lewis Johnston smashing his PB's

I know he is only turning 19 so it is a little harsh but look at Nipper Gordon who is about 19 and just eating up pre season !

Not surprising about the area around his gut as it has been commented before when was at Geelong about the excess skin he has after he dropped his weight from the 120kgs + that he was when arriving from Bunyip to play for the Geelong VFL side.

What excess skin? Watch Biggest loser if you want to see excess skin. He was 120kg, for his height he was hardly obese.

What we saying here? Another Nick Davis Let's hope not. It breaks my heart everytime I think of that boy and how he wasted the gift he had for playing footy. Maybe Kirky could give the Vez a swift kick up the arse and point out that you are retired for a long time. He the perfect case a man of limited skills who has become one of our greatest Swans. As far as I am concerned he is the greatest but I know others have different views

Kirk is nowhere near the greatest Swan to pull on the red and white.

Bob Pratt, Laurie Nash, Peter Bedford, Bob Skilton, Paul Kelly are way ahead of him for starters, without even thinking about it.

.... but he WILL make that list.
Might not happen overnight, but it WILL happen.

Davis himself made the point that whilst people can take the view that he didn't give it a go, the fact remains that he gave it enough of a go to play 168 games; as much as I'd like to think he had the talent, you can't get that many games at AFL level in modern footy without putting some effort in.

Whilst we all want to see Patty be a 200 gamer and an AA, I don't think we'll call him a waste if he plays 168 games and is part of a premiership winning side.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

                        Go Stella.

Patty has had health and body issues and I think it somewhat unfair to say he hasn't put in at this stage! Its like saying Heath James didn't try.... Lets just wait and see. He obviously loves playing but for some blokes loving and wanting are just not going to be enough if the body says Nup.

Not everyone can be a Kirky, or a Mick, or......

No. He is more or less a teenage boy.
And sometimes, no matter how hard you try, you never grow to be 6"6". It just is. Same as all AFL kids. They are not all Buddy Franklins! We get them at the beginning of their journey. Just some of them are never going to get off the ground. No matter how hard they try. And some of them get going well after the others do, because they work at it. All I am saying is that give the bloke a chance.

How old was Kirky before he got a gig. And how long did it take before he worked his way into being a good player. And how old was he when he became a very good player. And how old is he now? And finishes in the top five in the running. That took time. They are all different.
