Wore a pies jumper and screamed Collingwood all night???? In what sort of context??

A 'fuelled on full strength bourbon' context. How else do you scream support for your team? He doesn't barrack for the Swans or Blues, he showed his support for footy in the west.

Geez this lot are threatened by our sport aren't they? And how can roughly 1500 more fans in their heartland be a victory?

What you say is true , but the commentary left a lot to be desired .
Walls did his usual thing of stating the obvious ad nauseum .
would be nice if they had continued mentioning all the players names .

Good to win a game where there's a lot of room for improvement but also a lot of new excitement .

Was this opposite end of the grand stand? The guy was quality. Actually all you guys came up with some great calls on the green umpires etc.

I was sitting right next to yas to your right.

That's hilarious. They fail to mention that the only reason Swans fans weren't still lining up was because tickets had sold out. From what I've gathered, we would have easily broken the 12000 mark had there been tickets.

Right next to the stairs, that was us. I was there in the red Sherrin guernsey. Due to a course of anti-biotics, I was unable to drink, so my Pies loving brother took up my slack with due aplomb. I love ripping into umpires, its a sport unto itself. Was particularly happy with my mental breakdown of the "more mature" boundary hack, his shorts left little to the imagination. And also bagging out LRT, not his greatest fan!
But feel we introduced a generation of new fans to the boundary throw in "hooooo". Would've loved to get a wave all the way around, but alas, members are wankers.

As someone said on here a few posts back, there was ample room left over, could've squeezed in another 2 or so thousand. If they want to make GWS work, they must play all games there when they enter the AFL, better playing to 6 0r 7 thousand there than at Homebush. I think the local people will be receptive to it, I'm one, and know of plenty more that are as well. Will be lining up for membership when they become available.
Would've been ideal as promotion to see the TAC Cup team play a trial or even a training run before the game I thought.

                          Enjoy the vision

I cannot believe people are defending them, Lane in particular. I have watched it twice, when Sydney are in possession Lane does not even bother to commentate, he babbles on about whatever, bet he does not even know half our players. As soon as Carlton are in possesion he starts commentating again. Just appaling as usual

O'Dwyer had a good game barely rated a mention, but was amongst the better players on the ground

When are channel 10 going to stop using this clown?

You don't ban those who supported your opponent, you make them wallow in their loserdom by covering your victory! You sit them in the front row. You give them a hat! Toby Ziegler

What makes the quote so absurd, the journo actually ADMITS in the very same paragraph that the AFL crowd was capped at 10,000.

Sitting all the hill area, (like the majority of the spectators) was comfortably spacious. There is no doubt that an extra 2,000 could easily be accommodated.

If sports journos tied up to a particular football code are going to make such overtly partisan comments, they should say it with credibility and with a constructive based argument. I have never heard of this bloke, but his sense of logic makes him sound like a complete idiot, with no credibillity whatsoever.

And for the record, the NRL fans of Parramatta and Penrith would have travelled on mass a considerablly shorter distance that the many of AFL fans of Sydney and Carlton.

What about the free tickets given out by the AFL?

Not to be criticising one sport against another, but a trial match in the league with nothing at stake vs a pre-season cup game where there is something to play for.

Combine all that and it was decent crowd for a league game.

Its funny when you see the stats.

Malceski and Bird I thought were involved alot in the game but struggled to make a lot of pleasimg to the eye football........which doesnt al ways win matches !!

I actually thought Bolton and Kirk would have been miles ahead of Bird in posession just from watching the game........no wonder coaches watch replays !

it was a very heavily contested ball game.........maybe the pitch is quite narrow as well which squeezed the traffic..

Jack I thought had an off game - just didnt click - but there wasnt many targets in the fowards
