Ditto! Apart from anything else, that chant and its sound - had everything to do with what we all endured (players and fans) that night! It was sooooo fitting with the howling wind, driving rain and gutsy win - and has been used sparingly when the mood fits since by our fans.

Marketing hasn't quite emerged totally from the 2009 black hole it seems!

Thank you one and all. I hope the club will understand that the slow chant is a benediction from us to the players and takes place in a moment in time between us and them. It does not belong to anyone else.

Primmy, you have explained it so well. The connection between supporters and players often does not seem to be shared by Swans admin people, nor understood by them. This is yet another example.

I'm happy for a new upbeat chant or song - manufactured or spontaneous - for use when the boys need a lift, when they are playing poorly and need some extra energy and focus - not the sydney clap trap clap pap.

        But leave the sacred alone.

Haha I laughed at that- it was like I would be sitting there thinking- @@@@@@ I forgot to turn off the front porch light at my house, better get in the car and go back to Canberra to turn it off.

Completely agree 100% Primmy. Its a chant you can't manafacture like that, and the way they attempted it was cringeworthy.

Can you add these points to your petition Primmy?

            * ANZ has a bigger screen now, but what's the point when you're going to use up that extra space with annoying ads?
            * What happened to the quarter by quarter scores they would have up on the scoreboard, instead of stupid annoying messages.

Thanks UGG, I was going to mention those adds!
As for the Sydney chant, it's all a bit patronising, after 25 years in Sydney, the footy attending public aren't completely clueless. It's not like you can't work out what to do when one starts up if you so desire. DId we really need a bit of Karaoke Chanting?

Well said Primmy. It's about time the masterminds who devise this rubbish realise that we are not an American baseball crowd and do not react to prompts like a troupe of performing seals.

Someone should pm Larrissa with the thread, she seems to be our best contact in the inner sanctum.

Only if Kenny is playing it there in the front row!!!!!

It was pretty bad last night. The Cheer Squad has not been the same since Elton Flatly, I mean Peter Hatley left. They just couldn't get going last night. Very flaccid evening indeed. I couldn't believe how silent the crowd was last night at times. Might have been too humid.

There was more atmosphere at the Wests Tigers game on Friday night at the SFS.

Now that the SCG has a capacity of 48,000 I don't know why we need to play at ANZ anymore. Imagine the Collingwood game at a sold out SCG.

Not replying to thread,,,,just can't remember how to post,,,,,,I want to post the news that at ANZ they announced that there would not be kick to kick after the game on Saturday night,,,,,, but at the rugby union game on at the same time but at Sydney Football Stadium they announced that the kids could go on after the 2nd siren. Not an AFL night for the kids of SYDNEY.
