I agree DST, he is ordinary at the moment and a shadow of himself circa this time last year.
If he has a dodgy groin then something needs to be done ASAP, he appears to be going backward on form to me.

There are some tough markers on here. While I agree he doesn't seem to be moving as freely as usual, what impact have Milne, Burton and Morton had on games this year? Those have predominantly been his opponents. (And yes, he did stand Dangerfield late last week but only really lost one one-on-one contest. The goal Dangerfield kicked came from a mark from a long, accurate penetrating kick from an unpressured Cows midfielder that no defender would have prevented.)

When you boast a backline of 4 defenders who are much better attackers than defenders, someone has to stand the most dangerous opponents and I think Craig has been doing that pretty well thus far.

A tough game to make the votes, but if Jack's game was equivalent to Brent Harvey's vs WC then it seems a bit strange. Personally, my best were McG, Mummy, LRT (yes Scott!!) and Reg.

AND, AND, Leo gave away far more frees than Lewie has. Not to say his hands are safe 100% of the time, like whose is!!!! He is a great asset, has continued to improve year in and year out, and has lately acquired a degree of mongrel which has been buried deep within.

Bolts 2 should have a rest if his groin is an issue. We could rejig the backline with pulling Shaw back and inserting the Reid the Weed for a game or two, or even Curry, or shock horror, Ted!!!!

actually I think LRT is going OK (and this from soneone that is a hard marker of him). He was beaten by simmonds and did look like he couldn't beat him without help and did get lost in defence a couple of times but his kicking was very good.

I am more worried about the performance generally. Sure we had the game won at half time but that was more due to richmond's pathetic efforts than our great one. I am worried about how we will go against the kangs if we take a similar attitude in this week. It was a strange game - on balance we were actually beaten out of the middle and in the forward line we probably went 50;50 but it was our defence that won the game - but more due to their inability to kick goals.

Having seen dustin martin i can see why we were prepared to trade two first round picks for one....boy that kid can kick a ball

It's always nice to jumped the gun, and get a good start, then we can sit back and relax a bit (us, not the players).

Exactley, in case many people have forgotten, Geelong of 2007-2009 did exactley the same thing. In many games they had teams beat by half time only to take the foot off the gas after half time and win by around the same margin as the half time time margin. There were a few games where they went on with the job after half time, and this will come too for the swans in 2010, I guarantee it.

If people can recall, in the 3rd quarter, I think we kicked 3 goals 9 behinds...just think if it was 9 goals 3 behinds. Then all this talk about the swans not going on with the job after half time wouldnt even be here.

We belted them early, wrapped it up by half-time, maintained that margin until the end and had no serious injuries. You can't wish for much more than that.

Kangas next week will be a sterner test.

I wouldn't say I am a hard marker, I still think he is doing very well but there has been a couple of times in the games this year when he has gone to other players (Dangerfield and J Reiwvolt) and been beaten one on one when in past years if he has body on boday contact he would not be out marked and push away from the drop of the ball.

At this stage, it has happened a fair bit and it probably says a lot that Roos is yet to give him the opposition power key forwards so far this year as he looks like he is struggling to hold his ground and lacking in core strenght which is classic groin issues.

Still way better than any other option we have and well inside our best 12 players, but I don't think we will see him on a J Brown, Fev or simlar anytime soon.

How often does LRT gets his arms through packs to knock the ball when it hits the deck spoiling crumber takeaways? His desperation efforts seem pretty good and frequently effective. Stating the obvious but most defenders would surely expect to get beaten a few times a game, reason being, as often as not, opposition delivery to a forward's advantage.

Agree, a win is a win, who cares how it is done! Kangas will be a big test at etihad, although I rekon we can cover them.

Big if, but if we play like we did against the Tigers and Norths play like they did against the eagles, we will win by 50 plus !!

I think it is time for Ted to come back in - his dropping back, helping out, 3rd man in defence etc would strengthen the backline. Until his injury last year he was leading mark taker, for the second year in a row, from memory. And he will tackle. His handballs are quick and assured and would serve the running backs better than some of what has been happening over the past three games.

Who do you propose dropping? If Richards came in as an extra tall he would be the 4th man in defence, not third. Not good for team balance.
