I was at the game as well.#47 was Jeremy Hirst and there was no number 22. The top ups were 51 (Whiley), 48 (O'Neill),52 (Miles), 53 (Segrave), 50 (McPherson) and 49 (McRorey). All listed on the sheet handed out at the game.

Thanks for the info, Wedge. All the player lists had run out by the time I got there. A blonde headed Swans player in a number 22 jumper was briefly sighted in the dying minutes of the first quarter - Laidlaw doppelganger? The most likely explanation is that we were looking into the sun and mistook another 2 something, but two of us saw him...

What does it mean when a report says that Bevan "lost it" during the game?

Apologies. Bevan got cranky, bit of argy bargy. He was pulled immediately and came off with a rueful half smile. But, hey, after seeing a non-existent 22 running around.... Seriously, it probably didn't even rate a mention. I don't recall seeing the triggering incident, just the scuffle afterwards.

I also wonder about Pyke and he "must not give away frees" issue. Personally I think it is more "I must not kill"....he is a very very big strong man...

He knocked a bloke over after he kicked it and looked fairly frustrated throughout the game. The 22 could have been 52 which was Miles.
