Big decision.Players in Victoria will tell you that the step up from the VFL to the AFL is massive so I think maybe it is even bigger fro the Swannies.
Based on that I would go with Bevan or Ves who have previously proved they are capable of stepping up.Comment

Smiffy. I thought Ves was being regroomed for a backline job as he found he was more in tune with it? Bevo, dunno......Small, zippy, accurate.......umm.....Smify or Ves.If you've never jumped from one couch to the other to save yourself from lava then you didn't have a childhoodComment

I would reckon like for like player is the way to go, so either Rohan or Veszpremi, probably Veszpremi, someone who can play half forward, where Smith really plays midfield / backYou don't ban those who supported your opponent, you make them wallow in their loserdom by covering your victory! You sit them in the front row. You give them a hat! Toby ZieglerComment

I thought Smith only lost his spot to Tadgh...he'll probably get the nod. If not him, Bevan. They didn't keep him to play seconds.
Rohan will get his chance, altho I was surprised at Royboys opinion on his disposal. Stll, he's seen him play more than I have. I only have practice match form on him.Comment

Patty spent most of his junior footy as a back, I believe. I'd like to see him further up the field then the F50, he has the strength and burst of pace to break through packs and has wonderful penetration on his kicking.I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his timeComment

I will be extremely dissapointed if Bevan gets the nod over Patty Smith.I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline

Other than Rohan, all the players in contention have already demonstrated they are competent at senior level so not sure it is that big a decision.Comment

I doubt very much we will see Rohan this season. He is only 18, he has a lot of fine tuning to do, and a bit of nurturing. I know, I know, Hanners was 18 also, but he is a different bundle altogether. He played like a senior from his first game and ridiculously self assured and in tune with himself on the ground.
We daren't drop this game, we are up against an unknown (NicNat). We also have to have a forward who can relate to the rest of the setup. Yeah, maybe Bev off the bench. But....If you've never jumped from one couch to the other to save yourself from lava then you didn't have a childhoodComment

With the gradual development of our key forwards to work as a cohesive unit, and particular having them do it on the SCG, I personally think that a smart player that is not going to get in their way is extremely important. I think Patty is a a smart player, I'm afraid I don't think Paul is.I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline

To the 6 people who voted for Bevan - Welcome to the Swans. New supporters are always welcome...And the Swans are the Premiers...The Ultimate Team...The Ultimate Warriors. They have overcome the highly fancied Hawks in brilliant style. Sydney the 2012 Premiers - Gerard Whately ABC

As much as I'd like to see the X factor of Ves and Rohan, now is not the time to bring in players aren't proven AFL level performers. I dont think WCE have anyone (other than NicNat) that we need to particularly cover so as we have lost a mid/small fwd, our team balance will remain the same, therefore
Smith looked very good last year, obviously played a great game in the ressies so should be rewarded.
Or Bevan who showed a bit as a forward pe season.Comment
