You'd think if Pyke went ahead of Ted - that would be it for his time at the Swans, 5th in line for the "tall" defender...he'd get a gig at most other teams.

    As stated, it won't happen.
The eternal connundrum "what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object" was finally solved when David Hasselhoff punched himself in the face.

Reckon we can make do down back and should take the opportunity to bring in Rohan, TDL or Vez to spice up our fwd structure even more. That will by default give us another player to rotate through midfield and as shown by the Tankers last week, winning the midfield is the best way of stopping Brown and Fev.

I also don't think Pyke needs to be tried out for the sake of it. We have 3 first round picks currently running around in the reserves who I'd rather give a game to than Pyke.
        Yes, spot on.
If we are going to "try" Pyke out in seniors, it should be in a game against the likes of Richmond where his failings can be covered. I watch the reserves and PYKE CAN'T KICK!!!!!

Totally unfair in my opinion and hope that he comes in and proves the doubters wrong.

Guys like LRT and Ted are always the brunt of harsh comments though have the toughest job and do a lot of team things the average mug doesn't see.

Pyke is a long, long way from Ted.

Curious...do you think we just forgot to turn up?

Ted certainly deserves his chance if a tall defender is what's required - done nothing wrong before or after sacrificing his spleen for the club.

Ted will be in. Roo's will not expirement with new player movements like Nick Smith to the backline, against an opponent like Brisbane...

Nick Smith to the backline is a new player movement? He's proven to be an excellent player in the backline at AFL level, most recently on Saturday.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

I'd be very happy for Ted to be back in the side.

What about the other 13 games in the seniors backline that Smith has played before his 'new player movement' last week???

EDIT: Stella beat me to it .. I started writing and then the Minister for War and Finances ordered me to the table for dinner. Come back, finished the post and find out Stella beat me by 20 minutes ... lol

BTW, I agree that Ted will come back in, but not because Roos is worried about 'moving' Smith to the backline.

Has the results of his tests today been made public yet? or are we still in 1 to 6 weeks land with this injury?

I have a great deal of admiration for Craig Bolton - both as a player and as a person. But I don't believe in playing injured players, listed as such or not, and it was obvious that Craig was not playing his usual ultrareliable game the last couple of weeks - may or may not have been the same problem. For the good of the whole team, members not 100% fit and mentally switched on (Barry who?) shouldn't play. Kennelly, as an example, would put up his hand to play with a broken leg three weeks after a heart bypass. Macho crappo in my view, but I know that others see it differently. There should be no shame in a week off, or a soft run in Reserves. The team is greater than the sum of its parts and the end of September as important as the coming week...

I hope that Ted gets the nod, and does a good job and that we win, with no more injuries. And that Craig's injuries heal soon and he doesn't play until it is right again.

                                Surely Ted.

Again it would be sensible to have the one person for the next month or so of hard games; and Ted has had the role of filling the gap (rather than 1 on 1 defending) which must be valuable to the team structure for those games.

If his disposal and decision making is in question, then what an opportunity for all the gun rebounding smart 'defenders' we have to be calling for the ball when he does his role/part.
