Don't be so quick to drop off. Should be thankful these sorts of efforts are very very rare from our group. Even when losing games last year we put in most weeks (game against the bombouts at the SCG one of only a few when they didn't have a dip). We've stayed with the cats for a half, were undermanned, played out worst game of the year and were playing on the weirdest ground in the league. Yes - losing it so badly sucks, but hey, still a lot to look forward to this season!

Get past the dogs next week (which is a 50/50) and then our home ground will be no help to the freewheeling big-ground playing dockers, then the dawks in Melbourne - we're a chance to go 3/3 and be 8/2 after 10 rounds.

not that it is an excuse but Geelong did play an easy game last Fri night and we had a hard game on Sunday and had to travel. Incidentally everyone going on about Collingwood being great, how great would we, Adelaide PA, Brisbane, Fremantle & West Coast be if we played our fisrt 7 games at home (ES & MCG) and Collingwood play all games at MCG from round 16 - 22.

Yeah, I let out a loud "oh thank gawwwwwd" myself as the bell honked ... in the immortal words of Lost in Space's Dr Smith: "oh the pain; the pain ...".

i do think the moment just before half time was crucial. goodes tried to do too much, ball tuned over half time gap between side large instead of reasonable. but ultimately there is a large gap between the two sides. am worried about next week in a serious way now.

That's is about as good as I have seen Geelong play. Yes, it was disappointing that we dropped off so much in the second half but the Cats' disposal was exemplary and the Swans were just chasing tail for the last hour or so. We fell down badly across half forward and resorted to just bombing balls forward aimlessly, which the Cats picked off at will - and then sent the ball back down the other end.

I think Smith, Kennelly, Shaw, O'Keefe and Malceski at least worked their backsides off all afternoon, and some of Kennedy's touches were great.

Umm, hello - it is one game! Disappointing sure, but not jump off a bridge type stuff like you're making out!

Port got torched there by fifteen goals or so and have since won three in a row - two of them very creditworthy (against the Saints in a dour struggle and the dons in Melbourne ). Even against Adelaide they had to dig deep. If we can do the same in our games over the next three weeks, this rubbish game will be a distant memory.

Indeed. It was a all half back today. They'll sleep well tonight!

Pretty poor effort overall from the Swans.

Our highest scorer in dreamteam was mumford at 101. Who would've thought...

if you look at the season thus far as a whole im pleased but you are only as good as ur last effort and that was rubbish. We got a footy lesson, how will respond next week says a lot about this game.
Theres not much left to say

Why? Dogs are hardly setting the world on fire and were very very lucky to get past the dees on Friday. They will be heavy in the legs after playing in the wet and we are due to get one back on them. On top of that, will surely be fired up for first match against Hally!
