Gees Manuka is an uninspiring footy venue. Whilst I love how close you are to the play, it is awful viewing and the atmosphere virtually nil. Lovely day and beers in cans the big plus. Thought the umps too whistle happy which made it a really choppy sort of a game to watch.
Anyway, I wasn't too disappointed. The result was a given so I tried to concentrate on the youngsters in Hanners, Rohan and Jetta and you can see them improving. I wondered if Hanners was playing sore, looked to have trouble lifting his arm fully over his head freely later in the game.Comment

Back today from a trip to the bush. Saw the match on 10. Even with a fit Bradshaw it would be a huge ask, we were goners from the time Bevan replaced him.
I thought we went the wrong way round with Playfair and White; Playfair has done some rucking, let him get into things that way, while Jesse is a forward, play him there.
Yes, we do have depth, but a lot of it is still at the potential stage, not the actual. And I agree that the structure was shot.
The Bulldogs are a good outfit but can be put off their game; I'd like to see the rematch when we are all fit.
And some of the umpiring was diabolical. He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)Comment

Apologies if this has been posted already. Just a little column from Bazza.
Great to banish the pressure early
