The defensive side of his game is slowly improving and he has always known how to play wing(I think it was even there in the womb). He's going to get there as you can see the look on his face and body language is very positive as regards learning. He is lighter than me and I am only 160 cms so he does a damn fine job with that skeletal frame."The Dog days are over, The Dog days are gone" Florence and the MachineComment

Jetta's disposal is first class and even better when he gets time ... his long kicking puts him in the top two or three in the club. Just needs to work into the game more and get more touches ... simply confidence. He needs less pressure to do the amazing and instead focus on getting the ball 20 to 25 times a game and making each one effective. If he could get his possie count up he could be as good as gazza. I think it is time to throw him on the ball for significant periods of the game.
The player we should be looking at is Jaryd McVeigh. We really needed him to step up and play two really good games, instead he was hardly sighted on the weekend and weekend before. He needs to step up and become a leader of the club, it can't always be left to Goodsey, Kirk and Bolton to always try and throw their body on the line when the games is slipping. Ditto Malcseki. In my view over a long period of time McVeigh has demosntrated he is not a long term prospect as a mid fielder - he shoudl be put in the forward pocket and told to earn his way back into the mids group.Comment

I don't know what game you were watching, but McVeigh was our top possession getter (30), 5 tackles, 6 clearances, team high 10 contested possessions, 4 inside 50s and the Champion Data rankings had him as our top player.Comment

Wow, what game were you watching? Alongside Goodes he was our BOG on the weekend! And against Geelong he was Linged. Happens to the best of them.Officially on the Reid and Sumner bandwagon!Comment

Mcveigh is the only midfielder we have with a bit of a slickness and polish about him ( apart from Goodesy of course). His lace out kicks to hit Braddy on the tit have been a pleasure to watch all year. He is capable of more than he has produced this year but,
as has been said, he was clearly our best player on the weekend.
It would have been nice to see him repeat his effort at Manuka a couple of years back when he got 30 touches and kicked six goals. I really hoped after his stellar season in 2008 he was going to become one of the Elite class of midfielders.
He's not that far off it. Just needs to be more consistent and get back to kicking some goals too!
He is capable of winning a Brownlow if he can consistently perform at his bestComment

Yes. I gave him 3 TLM votes as well - for what seemed to be a consistent effort across 4 quarters.Comment
