His pace is what would make him an excellent forward. Being able to get a metre of his opponent over a 5m spurt for a shot on goal. Excellent below his knees as well.
If only he would kick a goal! The eternal connundrum "what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object" was finally solved when David Hasselhoff punched himself in the face.Comment

you get the feeling the dam will burst once he kicks one.Comment

Time for a couple of weeks in the ressies.
Sure he has pace and looks fantastic picking the ball up at full tilt, but we are effectively playing one man short at present as he ain't getting enough of it and when he does he is butchering what he gets.
The only other saving grace at present would be some forward line pressure and tackling but even that is not evident as he is not getting into the game at all.
I reckon he can be a good player for us, one with outside speed which we need but at this point he needs a rest to find some touch in the two's.
DST"Looking forward to a rebuilt, new, fast and exciting Swans model in 2010"

lay off the jetstar
Firstly he is a young skinny guy who is no doubt getting pretty sore and tired after 11 games of AFL in a row, he has shown some really good signs of developing, if he keeps it up he will become a very good player and the experience is invaluable. The only point to dropping him is for a rest but the mid season break is coming up. The week off will do him good and will come back firing after that.
Secondly averaging 14-15 touches in your first season as a pure outside mid is not bad at all. He is not a ball magnet and probably never will be but the meterage gained when he gets the ball is fantastic. Bird averaged about that in his first season and he played almost ever game.
Thirdly we dont really have a ready replacement for his position, being a pure outside run and carry mid, forcing his way in, besides maybe MOD who is quick but accumulated more than really breaks the linesComment

He was fine today. Didn't see as much of the ball, but his chasing, corralling, etc, the things that don't show up on the stats sheet, were really, really good. Had 3 shots on goal too. He'll get one eventually!Officially on the Reid and Sumner bandwagon!Comment

He needs to be persevered with him until he kicks that first goal. He does enough off the ball to hold his spot and the sense of excitement when he runs is palpable. The celebration alone will be worth it, but the surge in confidence and the goal deluge that comes in following games will make it worth the wait.Comment

He needs to do a MOL when his confidence was low: Sit in the Goalsquare and demand someone give you the ball. Then goal, feel better, confidence slowly returns.10100111001 ;-)Comment
