    Tough Decisions

With the Midfield getting smashed each week one wonders if Roosy is prepared to sacrifice our season by continuing to play Bolton and Kirk in major midfield roles. The fairytale ending is just a pipe dream now and maybe we should be moving on while there is still a chance of playing finals.

Perhaps it's time for them to miss a game or two with "injury"

Kirk is sadly only good for one half of footy..it's amazing and heart breaking too see how quickly it happens..i honestly thought kirky was good for another year in round 3. Same as jude.

I don't think there was anyone running around in the magoos yesterday who was ripe to come in and do better and there probably won't be until after the mid-season break. But certainly, once Bird has some miles back in his legs, McGlynn is fit, and if Meredith continues on his merry way, there will be a few genuine alternatives available.

bolton was in good touch til the concussion, im not sure he shouldnt of missed games then, same with okeefe.

I think kirky is still tagging well, just isnt hurting the other way as much this year. But i think he deserves to keep playing out the year at this stage.

As tough as it is to say, Kirk is done, and Bolton is not too far behind.

Kirk will always be one of my favourite Bloods, however the game has passed him by.

I said the same thing today, re Bolton and ROK. Haven't been the same since the Lions game.
Kirk kept Mitchell fairly quiet today.

I just hope we don't lose games because of Roosys loyalty to them.

Honestly, I still believe that they are both in our best 22 and have to be all year! They play their roles and are the spiritial leaders out on the ground for the young players.

I don't think Kirk and Bolton get tagged all that often. Looks like Bird is nearly ready and Smith will be an excellent midfielder when the time comes

Kirky's definitely struggling ... one thing we can be sure of, if he feels he has nothing left to give, he will be first to say so and pull the pin.

He's a bit like the stock market of late - under the pump, so made the big announcement about retiring at year's end hoping for a bounce of sorts (both for him and team). He'll know better than anyone it hasn't come yet, and needs to, pretty quickly.

Will be a very sad day when Kirky's career ends.

As for Jude - his head is still unscrambling after the big hit (definitely arguable he should have been rested for a week or two - evidence suggests probably yes). He'll get up and going again - and is a bit younger than Kirky. And as others have suggested, who is ready made to step in and replace all our hardnuts at once?

First thing to do is get Paul Roos to do his job. He's head coach, and having a bit of laugh on the boundary line is not helping.

Secondly, Jesse White needs a kick up the arse. He was actually caught asleep on occations today.
He needs to step up, or trade him to the coast. He should be a KP forward taking the chance without Brashaw around.

I have never been a Bolton fan and think that Kirk is probably the most overrated Swan of all time BUT they are leaders of the club, both on and off the field. Veterans are just as important in a rebuilding phase as the youngsters being developed. Jude should have been punted 5 years ago - another 6 months is not going to hurt and to be honest, getting rid of either of them now would do more harm than good.
