Not sure it's a myth. It would be a myth if it was never the case, but up until this year he has been an epic downhill skier, unfortunately managing to ping the gates when playing against us a few times. He gave Malceski an absolute bath a few years back (in Eski's good years as well).

But no doubt, he has been very very good this year and needs to be watched.

Not at all. In terms of hitouts per TOG%, and quality of taps, Pyke is up there with the best. The rest of his game falls behind dramatically, there's no doubt about that, but Pyke's tapwork is genuinely fantastic.
Officially on the Reid and Sumner bandwagon!

mummy and pyke are going to destroy jolly, his current form will not be able to beat two VERY in form ruckmen, no way he will be able to keep up with mummy's 2nd and 3rd efforts either.

maxwell is looking doubtfull too so thats good news for braddy if he makes in to the side this week

No I just think he is judged ridiculously harshly because he is 'flashy' and plays for Collingwood. I don't think there's another 22yo in the competition who has been scrutinised as closely as he has. Sure, he wasn't a star for the first 4 years of his career but not many are.

To be fair (kinda), there wouldn't have been too many players in their first few years who sought (or had their club seek) the same level of media exposure as Thomas - especially ones who weren't stars.

To true. That haircut! For club hardly in need of help in terms of marketing they certainly milked him very hard. I felt sorry for him actually.

Collingwood Magpies put Paul Roos in mood for battle

I think the Swans in truth have worn their credibility thin by talking ths game up and not performing. That said Prestiagiacomo owned Barry Hall the whole time he was in Sydney and is now out of the equation. Unfortuantely for us Bradshaw has an equally bad record against the Pies having kicked 15 goals in 11 games. Anyway we are a different side, but traditionally they are too strong a running side for us............

                  Boost for Collingwood Magpies

What's more it actually looks like they rested players to get ready for this game, Divdak etc

A Jolly good deal for Sydney

Seems to have worked out well for us really. Mumford is certainly more fun too watch

You don't ban those who supported your opponent, you make them wallow in their loserdom by covering your victory! You sit them in the front row. You give them a hat! Toby Ziegler

Doesn't matter, Smiffy will shut down Didak.

I think McGlynn owns Divdak, so maybe Smith to the soft one with an aversion to the hardy footy, you know whatsisname

Didak and Davis go missing in the big games.......except when the big games are against Sydney.

I hope our boys are switched on for this game.Previously, they have appeared lethargic after the break. Malthouse knows Roosey's plan backwards so we cannot swing too many surprises. It may come down to attitude and passion and who wants it the most. Someone from the Pies always plays a blinder against us and we at least need a plan to counter this player, drag him out of the play the way they drag Goodsey out. I hope our players dominate so it doesn't come down to the wire.I would love to see our coaches earn their big money and swing some moves to confound Malthouse and upset his plans. The same old conservative stuff will end up with the same old conservative result I fear. Hope I am wrong!

We have close enough to a new team that we have to hope we lift and beat the Pies this time around. What a great start to the second half of the season that would be. Roos always says that there's little he can do once the players run onto the ground and he could hardly do more to gee them up that this is a game he really wants to win.

Don't we all? I'm tired of coming home from that draughty hell hole after another loss to the Pies. I've got a friend's pass so could take my partner. But I've warned her that it may well end in tears - as it has year after bloody year.

My simple goals for the year:
                              1. Beat the Pies this weekend
                              2. Beat the Cats in R18
                              3. Beat the Doggies in R21 to go into the Top 4 and relegate Team Baz to the bottom half of the 8 (Braddy 5, Baz 0)
                              4. Play finals and win at least one finals game.
                              5. Oh, win Premiership so I can replace all my 2005 stuff that's getting a bit tatty and dated.
                              6. Party well into the new year.
