I don't see the problem or the cause for concern with White (and think comparing him with Campbell Heath is ridiculous). Couple of things to think about.
1. He is a fabulous athlete and is only 22, hasn't shown any propensity to particular injury, and is keen as mustard to be the best he can be (and shows his emotions on behalf of what happens to teammates)
2. Can run/mark/kick and tackle. We saw the Richo experiment on the wing and that was with a bloke who could often be doubtful for a set shot from 5m. White isnt at the end of his career (and doesn't have 2 reco'd knees), and I really think he could be a midfield flank running into forward/ruck where needed. Vesz/MOD and others wont have this capability... i.e 2m tall athletes with big tanks. They will be competing for other roles.
Compare apples with apples people. The reality is, we only have one of these sort of apples. Like McVeigh (and I recall the McHack tag that he got for many a year on this site) this kid will be special!!! End of story.
In the group that have been discussed in this thread I can think of 3 or 4 games where Whites contribution has one us games, and the number of times he has been bad at this stage of his career can be expected. If he were traded or not given opportunities to grow his confidence it would be a crime. I see no issue for others to be aggrieved that he has been given a place in the seniors. I dont feel that he is playing his destined role on the football field yet."We talked five times. I called him twice, and he called me twice."   :D

I don't think we'd even be discussing Jesse, had a port player not got a fingernail to his snapped goal or if the match had have gone for 2 seconds longer.
Jesse's marks were't sticking, but he provided a contest. His second efforts were excellent, and his work at ground level was fantastic.
Jesse is here to stay, and it will be to our benefit. The eternal connundrum "what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object" was finally solved when David Hasselhoff punched himself in the face.Comment

I wouldn't recommend running Jesse on the ball or in the ruck or anything besides a tall forward. He needs to understand his role and gain experience through playing. I don't think it would hurt for him to kick 10 in the reserves at this time. The eternal connundrum "what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object" was finally solved when David Hasselhoff punched himself in the face.Comment

I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his timeComment

So when the ball comes in under pressure (and we know how bad our delivery into the forward line has traditionally been) or off another marking contest, that is irrelevant?Does God believe in Atheists?Comment

I agree that the best way for White to develop is to spend his time in the forward line. My friend is a Richmond supporter (masochist) so I have watched a few Richmond games and last year Jack Reiwoldt played some shockers but they put their faith in him and continued to play him in the key position up forward (actually they have no one else) and now look at him!
However, it makes me think ruefully of Ed. If a position had been found for him and someone had had faith enough to play him for a period of time in it, who knows - he may have developed into a good player!Comment

The team won, and won comfortably, and if there were problems I didn't really think they were in the forward 50. That tells a story as well.I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline

I think he mostly had Cornes on him, who may be a codger these days but is very cunning. When we are at full strength, Jesse gets the third defender. When that happens, heaven help the other teamHe reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. Even more awesome was seeing this Port fan in a teal & black beanie lose the plot every time I started a chant up in the last quarter. He was swearing at me, giving me the finger, threatening to come down and belt me. So I kept going just to to see what he'd do next!
Was awesome seeing the players come right up to us and give us High 5s on the boundary line. It is funny but little things like that really mean a lot to us diehard fans. They make you feel like we are all one club together. More please fellas!
Nice to have a weekend during the World Cup. ;o) Then it is the Pies up in Sydney, a game I thought was a certain loss. Now I'm not so sure. Our team has great promise. All this is a rebuilding year (how is your re-building going West Coast! :0P)

The plastic over the seats at AAMI is a shocker. Does it break down under Port tears? In memory of my little Staffy - Dicey, 17.06.2005 to 1.12.2011- I'll miss you mate.Comment

Well done to JF and the loyal supporters in Adelaide.
Its a tough town to barrack for anyone other than the locals.
Some call it Feral ... I think they are just bad football supporters - with a huge inferiority complex.
The chants in the last quarter gave us the atmosphere that the commentators had denied us all game.
Take a week to relax and hope the Magies have a very tough (but fair) hitout tomorrow.Comment
