    Teams V Pies

I'm biased I know but Bevan would never be in my side regardless of the conditions or match ups. Would have liked to have seen how red went against the tough pies midfield.
..And the Swans are the Premiers...The Ultimate Team...The Ultimate Warriors. They have overcome the highly fancied Hawks in brilliant style. Sydney the 2012 Premiers - Gerard Whately ABC

Sick of losing to Pies: Kirk fires up Swans

Talked themselves up before. They are an older, but quicker so I wonder if having a faster player (Jetta Rohan or Vez) would have been better than Bevan. But the weather? Wet?

Bevan and White are both very fortunate.

Bevan's last game saw him hold Daniel Motlop goalless. So he's being rewarded for a good performance and will probably line up against one of the Pies' small forwards.

Thanks Bas, I just assumed he'd be in. Interesting dropping Fraser.

This kid Red is still 18. He was not quite as sharp at his last hitout, so I would think they consider he needs a few slower games for a bit. Time out. I would take Bev over Ves for this game any time. He is a hard bloke; has to be with all the vitriol expressed here. Ves has to be "handled" for a bit yet. Give it time people, give it time.

Should have played Rohan given it's been a big week for Rangas

Spot on. It's absolutely astonishing how Roos always reverts to conservative selections, in these big games. And as you say, it hasn't worked against the wobbles for 4 years! Surely this was a chance to be daring, play a few youngsters, and maybe go in with one ruck on a wet track.

As I said, I am biased so no matter how much logic you through at me regarding Bevan I'll never see reason.

He might have had a few excuses in previous years but this year there are few excuses. We have players available for selection who the Pies have never seen.Sure you can think of reasons why we should play Bevan and not Rohan or Jetta or Vespa ,the simple fact is we have done this before and we lost. Sometimes games can be lost at selection.Players lose confidence when they are not backed by the coach or selectors after a good effort. What was so + can easy become -.I hope the conservatives that seem to control team selection have not done too much damage this time.Generally they have been better this year than previous years but this week is a reversion to old ways.

All is not lost.We now no longer have the initiative but the Pies may not turn up to play and we might be fired and and ready to go.I remember feeling like this last year, then the year before that.........and so on.

Maybe bevo remains in the team cause its gonna be wet and he is that in and under type of player. That is the only reason I can think of to pick him over rohan, although he can throw his body in their aswell? Not sure on that one

I think we can lose the 'in and under' tag with Bev, he isn't big on clearances. He can certainly throw his body ON a player or ball, which would be great if it wasn't a free kick AGAINST in almost every such contest.

Yeh, I agree with this - as good as Pyke has been in recent weeks, you could see him being really exposed on cold wet night in a tough game. May well be a change before game time.
