Oh dear, I can't even blame the umpires tonight! Sickening....and the score flattered us!

Swans must be known for the slowest kickouts in AFL !
Surely someone watches / coaches these important plays.
We tap on the foot run 5 metres and bang long to an outnumbered shorter swan.
I think Collingwood worked this plan out by halfway thru the 1st qtr but we had no alternatives.
No movement to give the kicker a target ... very frustrating.

Yes, most sides seem to ba able to kick from the fullback square to a loose pocket player, and then the run is on....it is a mystery how the Swans stuff this up every time almost!!!!

how bad were the kick ins tonight bombed it long every single time only for it to turn over and come back.

            Midfield was comprehensively beaten.

we need to play genuine forwards instead of mids forward

beavan should never play in front of vez or tdl again

I fkn worked out this plan by 15 sec of the first qr.

And we DID have alternative. It's called going up the guts. Or running hard to position. Or protecting the flank. Or leading hard.

Worst game I've seen us play for 10years. Never gave a yelp. I've not been so angry for ages.

Two words really sum it up for mine-inept delivery. Massive failures at hitting targets. Routinely kicking/handpassing to players under pressure (which is nothing new for us).

Elsewhere, nobody appeared to want to back themselves and attempt to even look like they wanted to take the game by the scruff of the neck. The decision to take Goodes out of the forward line came 3qtrs too late. The kick-ins became more predictable than the jokes on Get Smart. How was this not addressed?

LRT was a spectacular underperformer. Jetta should be given clear instructions not to attempt running goals. The younger players in general (excluding the recruits from other clubs, ie, Mumford, McGlynn, Kennedy) need to have a good look at themselves and get their heads around the fact that they need to stand up and start being more accountable.

Funnily enough, the boofheads on Ch10 kept talking about our disciplined and regimented style of 1:1 play-but all I saw were blokes in the Magpies gear who seemed to be left in space on their own, running around like they were at a Footy clinic. Was there some other game on that they were watching?

I reckon we did OK against a very good team. Especially considering we got little out of our young brigade.

One worry is the number of times we miss targets with (what should be) easy handballs. It's no wonder we struggle to find space.

I can't believe some of the criticism of Goodes. He was well beaten today - often by multiple opponents - but he never stops presenting & providing a contest, and the delivery to him is often wanting. There's no doubt that he's more effective as a midfielder, but who do we have to fill the void at CHF?

                      A few other observations:
Jude was missing again, until Q4
Jesse White - got to enough contests, but not much to show for it. Still not playing in front enough
Shaw - OK but too many turnovers once again. Not sure if he'll still be in our best 22 by 2012
Mattner - seems well down on the last 2 years. Another whose medium-term future seems uncertain

and ANZ is not our friend. Do we play there because of some reason relating to money? It certainly couldn't be because of football.

I reckon (and I could be wrong ;P), that we'd do a lot better against this mob if we played at the SCG.

Rohan and Jetta did the same as they have in every other game they have played. . It wasn't the Kids that were the problem.....

McGlynn, Kirk and Rohan were the only players I saw going in hard (and a couple of desperate, but late, efforts by Mal). Problem...

This more then anything else had me yelling at the TV. I don't necessarily think Malthouse is a better coach than Roos (he just has better cattle at this stage), but in this department the Pies were all over us, and so are most other teams. It is a COACHING problem, and it has to be fixed.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

Why aren't blokes attacking the ball? Let's all throw the arms in the air and pretend we're trying. I'm sick of getting beaten by the filth.

Good work by Rohan, McGlinn, and well - that's about it.

Lloyd and Walls being smug about us losing.
