What particularly frustates me is that this Collingwood side was not the best to come up to Sydney in recent years. They made their own fair share of mistakes and lacked the intensity of past Pies in recent years that have come to Sydney. And they were missing their captain and leader, Nick Maxwell.
No, this was a golden opportunity to finally win against the Pies, and it was lost by the worst Swans performance of the season. I know there is an old saying that you can only play as well as your opponents let you. However I really believe that this time it wasn't so much the quality of Collingwood, but the paucity of Sydney that led to yet another Swans lost.
By the way, this makes it No.9 in row in terms of losses against Collingwood. All I could think of going to bed last night was that arty Beatles track from the White Album, "No.9 Revolution", with a deep male voice growning on and on and on with the words, "number 9", "number 9", "number 9" ....and so on.

. Then I had to sit the that atrocity of a game. We should have been beaten by a lot more. And to top it off the umpiring was DISGRACEFUL. I don't know how they kept saying that we were in front in the free kick count when it seemed to me that all a Swans player had to do was breathe on a Pies player for the whistle to go yet it was all but no holds barred the other way. Can someone please explain how the same rules can be interpreted so differently for different teams.
