I don't always agree with your sentiments CJK, but I do with this one. LRT is a damn fine player and we need him at CHB. There ain't no one else people. Not yet there isn't. The coaches rate him. the players rate him. I rate him. If we had won, you would have rated him too. He has never watched a ball go through like Griffith did. He always contests to the last inch.

Yep. If he messes up, he always follows up with a second attempt at the ball. Don't diss the Hyphenator.

Funny how quickly it's been forgotten just how poor we were in the backline when he had his foot injury.

This regular LRT bashing thread makes me think that a whole lot of people out there in RWO land really don't understand the game at all. His slightly awkward style and the occasional turnover under intense pressure makes the knockers exaggerate his negatives and somehow completely overlook his positives. That we are not winning the midfield makes our defenders job so much tougher. The amount and quality of ball coming is way makes his job extremely difficult. Anyone notice how Scarletts status has risen appreciably since Geelong started their stunning current era? I'm of course not saying LRT is Scarlet but if he was at CHB for Geelong he'd look a really good player.

Make absolutely no mistake, LRT is one of the MOST IMPORTANT players in our team and knockers are showing themselves to not be students of the game.

Exactly. He would be the first one picked every week for mine. Take him out for a few weeks, you would notice the difference.

LRT is a true Blood, Always plays to the best of his ability and never gives up. The team would be a lot poorer without him.

what a laugh. A person who disagrees is "not a student of the game."

Make no mistake LRT performs a role. Nothing more nothing less. And he does it worse than Bolton and Grundy, and before them Leo. He takes the slow lumbering forward and makes them look good. He never takes the best forward and when he does (franklin, rewoldt, hall, brown) he gets moved off.

He is important to our structure and obviously so without bolton. But in case you didnt notice missing playfair on the weekend also effected us pretty significantly. And nobody says he is a world beater.

I guess its simple for me. He is as limited as a presti going forwards and nowhere near as effective defensively. And just because he is important structurally and he tries hard doesn't make him special. hes not. he is a good ordinary player who should take the third tall but because of circumstances is forced too often to play on the best tall.

                              +2

Amusing to see all the LRT haters go silent after he missed the Geelong game.

If he really was such a useless hack, I wonder why numerous AFL clubs have in the past made serious offers for him....perhaps all those recruiters are stupid too????

With CBolts future in doubt, we need him more then ever.

His biggest problem is his kicking across goal without a thought of what the next move will be, we invarably have to kick it back before moving forward, he hasnt grown up with AFL and so his thinking about the game is slow. Sure he does a servicable jib but no where as good as 2005.
