fair to say that was an unexpected and welcome surprise. great start to the game but even if we win we still wont have beaten someone above us on the ladder

Good to see Bolton's back to doing what he does best too.
The most heartening thing for me is that Roos and the players are managing to confuse the Blues. Without Bradshaw, Seaby, Bolton and LRT, attempting to play a formal structured brand of footy would be hard to pull off, but if you confuse the opposition enough it really doesn't matter what your "structure" is. As you note, Goodes, Shaw and Malceski have been pivotal in this. It's hard to tell which area of the field any of them are supposed to be playing in, they seem to be making a difference everywhere.Comment

Teddy looking pretty good today - we haven't missed LRT so far but Hampson might be a worry.
Grundy, Mattner, Malceski and Kennelly holding firm at the back.
Mumford and Pyke doing really well - will make it hard for Seaby to be rushed back in. Good to see Jack killing Judd. Anyone else think Juddy is getting a bit more goal hungry as he ages?
Shaw is really presenting well and I love McGlynn's guts.Comment

Right now I would rather be the team that hasn't beaten anyone above them than the team that has beaten St Kilda and Geelong. First aim is to make the 8 and then beat the teams you have to in the finals.Comment

I am shocked by how good we are and how bad Carlton is. We are harder at the contest and first to the ball and have made far less mistakes.Who would want to be a Carlton supporter? we got to pay respect to the umpires who haven't fallen for the "play for the free" style of many Carlton players and have rewarded our hard attack on the ball style. The team is going great ,running hard to create options and all deserve their place but i bet TDL is spewing that he not out there today against this mob!Comment

Very nervous about that Mumford incident where he ended up driving Joseph's head to the ground after tackle had been completed.Comment
