I doubt we had a passenger today. One blemish was some really dumb turnovers that a good side would have crucified us for. Mattner, Jack and Hannaberry had some howlers. Just as well Carlton's turnover were rolled gold.
I thought Grundy was sterling today. Cool and found space at half back on the rebound. Have always said Shaw is far more valuable up the ground. He is very quick on the lead reads the play extremely well. He and McGlynn make a huge difference up forward.Last edited by Nico; 18 July 2010, 07:49 PM.Comment

Dwayne was particularly difficult to listen to today. But a great win, first half was our most attacking footy all season, second half was a holding pattern but they did come at us a bit, and we did well to withstand the pressure. Another milestone in Jack's development - taking on and beating a player of Judd's calibre - he's found it tough when playing against the likes of G.Ablett in the past so it was great to see him have a win today and a pretty significant one too!Comment

At todaty's after match, Roos said Smith would be out for a couple of weeks. The only players to not front were Smith and Bevan. Both injured today. Agreat win! How about some positive Swans talk for the next week. A great atmosphere at the Melbourne after match today. Every player gave their best as usual but obviously won't be enough to please the RWO crowd.
Structurally, Bevan is now important. My head is spinning!'Delicious' is a fun word to sayComment

apart from injuries there is nothing but positives to talk about today. I was very happy with whites game, carltons lack of tall forwards made lrts loss more bearable. I was very impressed with the team leadership today, kirk, goodes, bolton they all stood up. I like kirk out of the middle and shaw up forward.Theres not much left to sayComment

I can find a negative. ROK's game has been pretty ordinary for a number of weeks, but his disposal today was woeful.
I lost count of how many times he gave the ball up to a Blue, without too much pressure.
Goodes has lifted his game. McV was OK, but suffered a knock to the knee, and seemed to struggle for pace after that.
But ROK is still performing sub standard IMO.Comment

Mcveigh i agree would be a concern, presume injury is something he is carrying in recent weeks. But he always goes missing in patches anywayTheres not much left to sayComment

Great performance. I thought everyone contributed and it was great to see us attack through the corridor again. This was the hallmark of our early season wins and we look a much better team when we play direct (most do). And surprise, surprise our forward line once again looked potent (as pieced together as it is) when the ball is delivered quickly.
The best sign was the skill level which was generally very good, as you'd hope indoors. It makes you wonder why some of our players struggle so much when exposed to outside elements remains a mystery.
I reckon Mumford could be in some strife.Last edited by top40; 18 July 2010, 08:38 PM.Comment

You couldn't ask for a better performance from Sydney against a team that really had to front up after their loss to the Dogs last week. Ratten would have given them a huge rev up at half time to get stuck into us.
So well done Swans,
Probably won't beat Cats or Hawks but they should be more nervous than a few weeks ago.
The slick handball, the running past, the perpetual motion was a huge improvement.
