mumford should be fine, if he gets cited for that, then the match review panel is a joke

It was low impact and usually you'd be able to get away with a reprimand by pleading guilty, getting the 25% discount, diminishing the number of points to less than 100. However he has carryover points from the Ablett incident (I think) and that will take him over the 100.Comment

Great games from Bevan, Moore and Richards from the whipping squad. Jessie presented well.
Outstanding hands and vision from Hannebery in the clinches.
Goodes had a great game when it was on the line, but should have distributed around goals.
Praise for Jack on Judd too.He ate more cheese, than time allowedComment

Just back from Etihad and a quick run through the thread. Great game to be at, and although I'm inclined to give Goodes BOG, we had as many good players as our spread of goalkickers. Apart from a couple of godawful clangers (Crackerjack gets the prize!) including some indecisive fumbling by the defenders, and people looking to kick goals when they had Pyke/White/Shaw standing by themselves at times, we moved the ball quickly (especially in the first half) and simply cut Carlton open. Meredith had another good game, as did Jack, Kirk, Mummy, Mal, Smith until he went off, McGlynn, ROK, Bevo, Teddy and Tadhg in patches. Moore shone, two good goals, well-directed handballs and his generalship in the forwards, especially useful for Pyke, who was rated BOG by the radio commentators a bit over half way through the first quarter. Jesse deserves a separate comment: he played well with two goals and nearly a third if he'd got his balance quicker, chased well, presented well - I'd like to see him impose himself regularly in the way we see occasionally.
Carlton was good in patches, mixing up very good hand and foot skills with monumental clangers. Judd's foot delivery remains a mixed bag, but he has a great pair of hands. This was a satisfying win.Last edited by dimelb; 18 July 2010, 05:16 PM.He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. A great first half, although I wonder if Carlton made us look better than we are.
Everything went to plan. Jack kept Judd quiet in the first half, our forward entries were really clean - Carlton had seven more inside-50s - plus we have six multiple goal-kickers.
Today showed that when Goodes is in form we're a really damaging side. We have a tough run home (Melb, Geel, Hawks, Freo, Bulldogs, Lions) but could cause an upset or two if we play like that.
Grundy and Malceski were sensational in defence. Got a ton of possession, used the ball well. Good to see White up and about and playing with confidence.
I loved McGllynn's attack on the ball and the ball carrier - that mark in the first quarter (which led to a goal), the chase on Yarran (?) which helped prevent a goal plus that close shave in the last quarter when he had his head over the ball. The man who laughs has not yet heard the terrible newsComment

Roos press conference:
- Best win of the year
- Some players come back into good form makes the team better - Goodesy, Kieren Jack's first half on Juddy, Rhyce Shaw forward, Jesse White forward gave us a real target.
- Shaw - watching him play last week and at training, has some natural forward instincts and marked really well. Has a bit of pace which troubled them early on.
- Bradshaw, Bolton and Seaby - rehab going as expected, but season may run out
- Nick Smith - hasn't done a hammy before, would think he would be out for 2,3 or 4 weeks
- McVeigh - knock on the calf, as game wore on started to tighten a bit so we didn't want to risk him in the last 15 minutes.
- Kirk on Simpson - important player for them, underrated gets them going. Good job
- Although the press and the Carlton coaches might disagree, I thought Carlton was up, especially in the second half. Their midfield Juddy, Murphy Gibbs had a lot of it so I think they didn't play poorly. When they did come in the second half, we were able to respond and that is certainly pleasing
- Forward setup - a bit different, if we were going to need a small forward line, then Etihad wasn't a bad place for it. It allowed us to rotate a lot of players through the forward line.
- LRT - misses one more week.

Great win, best for the year by far for mine (i reserve the right to change my mind if i want). God there is a lot to like about the neo bloods at the minute. The Backline's rebound is deadly. Mike Pyke's development is sensational. Mummy is worth another million. Jesse worth a bit if he can play like that every game. Above all gee I love Benny McGlynn. The bloods win when we have the intensity and he sets the tempo no doubt. I recon he would have the best winning percentage out of all our players this year and there is good reason for that. Home final is within reach if we can knuckle down and play more bloods football.Comment

If Swans can beat Demons (MCG), Hawks (SCG) and Lions (Gabba) then I think I can forgive them for the Tigers lossup the gutsComment
