No, you have no idea about football. Of course, very little of what Jetta did came off. That is unfortunate, as it could well have. However, the thing that separates Jetta's effort from the vast majority of the team's is that he left everything out on the field. When others gave up, he was still chasing. When an opportunity to hit back at the Dees came up, he took it and did everything he could to create, to spark the team. But he had nobody to kick to, no options, no support. If every player had played with Jetta's intensity yesterday, then we just might have come away with a win.

In the end, Jetta didn't contribute much. But when he put in a 100% effort when few others would, it's very difficult to be critical of him for it.

He has the pace, but when it's defensive pressure and hard running required he lopes after the player. It was doubly noticable looking down the ground when you can see blokes ran past him to space and he doesn't/didn't realise till afterwards that he needs to track these runs and bust his boiler when the ball is not on offer to him but his opponents.

I don't doubt he can be a decent senior player but at this stage he is not worthy of a senior spot and it's only that we are sadly lacking pace that we have given 10+ games so far.

The only thing worse that I saw on Sunday was the woman who blew $1000 on the $30 Black Jack table in 30 minutes last night at Crown. When I'm in Melbourne, if I'm not watching the footy, I'm watching people lose big time at Crown.

Well I think everything has been said. I knew we were in BIG trouble when Jim Steynes sat on the interchange.

Sitting in the AFL members on Level 2 in the Great Southern Stand (GSS), you couldn't see 90% of the game because it was played in front of the MCC and Demons fans.

The most fascinating thing in the afternoon were the seagulls. They just covered the GSS. Flying around and crapping on everyone, pretty much a reflection of what the Demons were doing to the Swans.

The performance was that bad I was hoping the Dees would win by 100. I stayed till full time although if I had been in Sydney I would have been gone at 3/4 time to beat the traffic.

Goodes was a standout. I've been critical of him over the last few months but he was the BOG in my opiion. Although a few others, Jack, Malsexy were very good. Mike's goal was good.

How is this for bizarre.... Driving back today, I stopped at the Macca's about 4 Klm north of Glenrowan. I go to the loo and who should I run in to but the man that sits next to me in the Brewongle. So I had a good chat with his family outside, as they sadly went to the game as well. Ripley's believe it or not.

What is with the beggers in Melbourne?. Couldn't have lunch without someone asking you for money. I got to the point and said - sorry ex-wife took all the money. Sadly my tragedy was lost on them. Silly beggers, the first to empathise would have got some money. None did.

I took my eldest neice and her NRL/Rugby playing boyfriend (they were visiting Melbourne as well) to the game on friday night. It was their first ever AFL game, and after explaining the rules to them they both loved it and will definately go to a Swans game...............maybe next year.

Absolutely.

Jetta looks great when he is running but he too often doesn't seem to have any purpose. He shouldn't have been brought back and he shouldn't play again in the seniors until the pre-season. Rohan or perhaps even TDL would have been a better choice.

Jetta is young and will make mistakes, but I don't mind him making his mistakes in the seniors. For a first year player Jetta has been great. If he is the 22nd player chosen each week until the end of the season I wouldn't have a problem, provided that he keeps learning. Although I would like to find room for Rohan also.

At least there was a positive - no matter what crap is going on in life, I reckon if you can find a good wine, for a good price AND in a litre bottle - then lifes not all bad. (so you will love the champ dinner - the wine at the annual club knees up is normally rather nice - and as I'm a girl who loves her bubbly - that's not too shabby either!)

I thought his efforts without the ball were very good. Maybe it came across differently on TV, but I saw him a number of times harassing opposition players, scraggling them, slowing them down (if not quite stopping them, as he's not quite strong enough to lay big tackles). I thought his defensive pressure was much, much improved from his previous senior stints.

I don't think that's right. At the start of the season we looked very fast because we were slick. Now we fumble and look slow.

Kirk is certainly one of our slowest but he catches more players than just about anyone in the whole competition.

Sure enough the ball as heading back to him a few seconds later. The Dees seem to take their possessions in 10 metres of space. EVERY Swan would look quick if they were given that much space.

How many teams are in the comp? over say 50 metres I'd say we're the worst

Maybe we are slow but our game plan accentuates it especially from the midfield. The comment about Melbourne players receiving the ball in ten metres of space is about the way they set up and spread from clearances and contests.

On the rare occassion we did find space our disposal to players in the clear was ordinary, even short hand passes were missing there mark and players had to stop to get them or pick it up of the ground. No wonder we look slow.

I agree with bad days being overlooked sometimes BUT Roos idea of not reviewing the game is crap. I thought it was OK when he said the same thing four weeks ago against Collingwood but given we were beaten (flogged) by another team who run hard, spread well from contests and pressure the movement from our backline this needs addressing as our players and game plan don't stand up in these situations. If we ignore it and keep going the same way we will get the same result every time we meet Melbourne, Collingwood or Bulldogs. Maybe we just don't have the cattle and injuries don't help but I think we can be better.
