I was glad to read that - I am badly in need of a group hug, but this is a start. That crap game mattered as much to the boys as it did to us.

We got into the red wine.....and groaned a lot....and threw stuff. Poor you, I know you were looking forward to this game....me too..... Still we didn't lose as badly as against St Kilda in around 1997 when I learned the true meaning of "staying to the bitter end". I never forgave Spida for walking backwards and spinning the ball on its axis, taunting the blokes before kicking yet another goal. That I think was a 100 pointer loss.

Just call me Pollyanna.

I taped the game while I was at work and was all set for a grat night watching the Swans kill the Demons.
I was so disgusted with that performance I turned off the tape five minutes into the 3rd Qtr. If the Swans play that badly next week they'll get smashed by 100 points plus.
And the umpiring was an absolute joke. I can't believe umps could be that biased.

I was at that game and remember Spida doing that. However as E.J Whitten said :"Winners are grinners and losers can please themselves". The only compensation was that it was Melbourne and the living legend Jim Stynes. If in someway it helped his recovery then I would be happy for the Swans to lose to the Demons for the next five years. Jimmy is a remarkable man and truly a ROLE MODEL for every kid.
