Did anyone find out, or confirm, what that pax number meant? Was it actually linked to how many tickets had been sold?

That's acceptable. Different state. I should have specified any Sydney Member.

After googling PAX, as far as I can tell, they are apparently generated in ascending order and is generally indicative of tickets issued. The PAX does not however account for corporates, freebies and competitions.

Latest PAX number reported over a Big Footy is 38,456. I wonder how many we can expect in walk ups today + sponsors/corporates, freebies etc.

And the PAX number includes tickets that may have been cancelled as well. While it won't be 100% accurate of course I would imagine you can make a rough estimate with the aid of the PAX.

You can also add ANZ Stadium members and their guests, so hopefully they will turn out for the day.

As the weather is good, and there's nothing else on this arvo except Manly vs Canterbury at Brookvale, we might get quite a good crowd.

Just to warn people who are coming out, security are asking about cameras and banning their entry. Thankfully I didn't bring my SLR.

I'll be the first to say it - the crowd today (41,596) would have fitted nicely into the SCG.
