Honestly, what else would you expect him to say? He has to toe the party line.
I think we've all got it that you and Kyles and one or two others love ANZ, but how about you accept the fact that the majority of us don't, as is our prerogative, and stop over-reacting to every negative thing said about it.

I think that the main problem for a lot of people with ANZ Stadium is that we usually play the top teams of the last season there. This has made these games hard to win, so ANZ has now come to represent losing for many people (this may change if we become a top 4 team again). I think that next year the AFL should schedule us a couple of games there that we have a much better chance of winning.

Sorry, getting a bit off topic.

this may be off topic but has anyone heard anything about ticket sales or estimates of the crowd?

I'm not sure what I'll be wearing yet. Either the cowboy outfit or the Robin outfit. Either way it will include a red and white faux fox fur stolle.

This could be true for some supporters but I've not liked the joint since my first visit in 1999. The fact that the Swans play their best footy at the SCG and don't get to play finals there just adds fuel to that dissatisfaction. As I've stated before ANZ is not a popular venue with the general public and that has everything to do with the aethestics and the location of the ground and not any particular teams winning percentage.

At the end of the day everyone's free to like or dislike the ground. Each to their own.

Max crowd prediction from the Swans and AFL is 45K on Sunday. Be interesting to see where it ends up.

Something magical about the drama of getting SCG Final Tickets, sets a real buzz in the city and generally guarantees a sell and cauldron atmosphere.

Interesting article from Hinds here: Flapping of wings but Swans not taking flight

I agree with a fair bit, especially this:

As a result, the media, held at arm's length, is often left with nothing much more than a succession of deliberately non-offensive, non-controversial and, sometimes, nonsensical soundbites to feed the fans. The corporate message might be sold and the insular club culture protected but such an aloof attitude is counterproductive when the Swans' most potent opponent is suddenly in rude health.

Nah, I'm over the whole NRL V AFL thing, which is what his piece becomes in the last paragraph. The Swans have done well to attract a decent core supporter base in Sydney. I reckon they'll be a good 40,000+ crowd but I agree it would be better played at the SCG.

It's funny how a voluntary player agreed 365 days a year three stikes testing policy can be bizarre, compaed to an NRL compertition that does not test for illicit drugs or have a formal policy in place.

I'm not a fan either (although the loo facilities are far superior to those at the SCG!!!)- But there's nothing we can do to change it -- so I'm going to embrace it. Group Hug at the Aisle 119 bar from 1.30pm onwards - leave bad vibes outside of Gate H. A sunny day amidst the rainy day's. C'mon Swans rip the Blues a new one! Feel the love!!!

i think if we get 40-45K turnout its not a bad result, look at the saints v geelong game last night they had 65,000 and that's for two victorian teams so in hindsight we are doing ok.

I think we may get a crowd not unlike the size of the crowd at the 2004 EF V the Evils.
