No idea on crowd size, but I will definitely be there! Just hope its a nice afternoon. It all depends on whether the AFL and the Swans market it well- i.e. the Dogs game at the SCG got a great crowd because there was a lot of exposure in the media/advertising etc. If the AFL is serious about not only the swans but also GWS, they will be flooding the airwaves this week.

I hope we'll get a crowd of more than 50,000. And we should all be working as hard as possible this week to bring along as many family members and friends as we can.Comment

I'm on the Chandwagon!!!
If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.

Not sure what size the crowd would be but was kind of peeved to get the Sunday game, purely because it means I won't have enough time to get to Kogarah afterwards (with traffic, etc).
But there's no other sporting events in Sydney (that would clash with the SCG/SFS members, etc) except for the Manly/Bulldogs NRL match, so if the weather's good they should attract a big crowd (regardless if it is Father's Day).Comment

I'm torn. On the one hand, I'd absolutely love to go. On the other hand, my dad is an Essendon supporter and despises ANZ as a ground (so he wouldn't particularly want to go), and has just moved into his new house up in the country, which I haven't yet visited. One of his mates (and he's my mate too, really) up there is also a Carlton supporter, and it is his first Father's Day this Sunday. So, the plan is to go and visit my dad and watch the game with him and the Carlton-supporter, on Father's Day. It will still be a fantastic day, but it's going to hurt badly not being at the game, especially if we lose (as it will be Kirk and Roos' last game for the Swans, and I could have been there, but wasn't!).Last edited by BSA5; 29 August 2010, 02:29 PM.Officially on the Reid and Sumner bandwagon!Comment

You could always do dinner with your Dad after the game.Comment

Geez I'd give a body part to get to that game but the Sunday fixture makes it impossible for me to get to where I have to be on Monday. So disappointing to read that there are Swans "fans" who won't go purely because of the stadium its being played at.
Come on guys seriously, even if you've only been supporting the team a short time, it's a final against Carlton!!! The last time we met them in the finals was 1986 and prior to that, the Bloodbath in 1945.
I think crowd estimates so far are underestimating how much a finals appearance will actually mean to Carlton people. The game is not against the Roos. Carlton fans will travel and if the crowd is 40k or less, they will have a healthy percentage of the total.Comment
