I'm so glad I'm not emotionally attached to my parents ... they know swans come first.

Home Final Attendance
Not sure how many of the general public will pay those ridiculous prices to watch an AFL game at a Stadium that most don't like.(most people i talk to are NRL fans and they hate the joint) Hope I'm wrong but 35,000 is about all that will be there...And the Swans are the Premiers...The Ultimate Team...The Ultimate Warriors. They have overcome the highly fancied Hawks in brilliant style. Sydney the 2012 Premiers - Gerard Whately ABC

Instead, you keep whingeing about the venue, pouring cold water on the occasion, and sounding as if you hope the whole things fails to prove your point.
Why on earth do you bother?Comment

c'mon everyone - its time to move on, forget the crap & ticketing debacle of the last few days (I know easier said than done) and lets not worry about the things we cant change. Lets just look towards what will be a fantastic weekend of footy.
Its at the Big ground and its OUR TEAM who's playing there, they are in with a damned good chance of winning - lets get the positive vibes going everyone - EMBRACE IT SYDNEY!!!Last edited by Wardy; 1 September 2010, 09:44 AM.I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure..................

If you were really worried about poor attendance, you'd be writing positive posts about how excited you were the team had made the finals, and how important it was for everyone to come along and support them, regardless of where they're playing.

BigAl is commenting that Joe Public would be reticent to pay inflated prices to watch the game on a casual basis at a ground that has proven to be clearly not particularly popular. I doubt any posts on RWO would have any influence on Joe, who wouldn't even know of this boards existence.
As for 'sounding as if you hope the whole things fails to prove your point' I found your constant criticism and derision at the drafting of Bradshaw far less palatable then Al's view of ANZ and finals prices. You must be soooo pleased that the experiment hasn't come up trumps at this stage.Driver of the Dan Hannebery bandwagon....all aboard. 4th April 09Comment

I agree - whilst I am stoked that we have a home final and will be there with bells on, the fact is that a lot of people don't like Homebush and many couldn't be bothered to make what they perceive as a long journey to get there. I think I am in the minority when I say I actually like games out there (and I live in walking distance to the SCG), but I just don't think this is going to grab the masses, especially if the weather is a bit dodgy. And I agree the ticket prices are a bit steep, especially in terms of trying to get the casual supporters to come along. I just hope we get a big crowd and have a big win.Comment

Also I thought you were smart enough to realise that what's written here whether it be positive or negative would have any affect on what the general public thinks...And the Swans are the Premiers...The Ultimate Team...The Ultimate Warriors. Relax and enjoy that we are playing in the finals again and better still, playing a final in Sydney.Last edited by cruiser; 1 September 2010, 10:19 AM.Occupational hazards:

A cheap seat at the Gabba last weekend cost me $59. You can buy tickets for good seats at the game this Saturday for as little as $35. Cheapest at the MCG this weekend is $43 (premium $70). Cheapest (that I can determine) at Subi are $40.50. As for any ticketing fiasco on Monday I dont quite understand why people felt the urgent need to queue to get their tickets on Monday anyway. If it was being played at the SCG I would understand, but not at the 80,000 seat capacity ANZ Stadium. I still havent bought mine yet (although there's another reason for that).
