I'm so glad I'm not emotionally attached to my parents ... they know swans come first.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.

      Home Final Attendance

Not sure how many of the general public will pay those ridiculous prices to watch an AFL game at a Stadium that most don't like.(most people i talk to are NRL fans and they hate the joint) Hope I'm wrong but 35,000 is about all that will be there.
..And the Swans are the Premiers...The Ultimate Team...The Ultimate Warriors. They have overcome the highly fancied Hawks in brilliant style. Sydney the 2012 Premiers - Gerard Whately ABC

If you were really worried about poor attendance, you'd be writing positive posts about how excited you were the team had made the finals, and how important it was for everyone to come along and support them, regardless of where they're playing.

Instead, you keep whingeing about the venue, pouring cold water on the occasion, and sounding as if you hope the whole things fails to prove your point.

Why on earth do you bother?

c'mon everyone - its time to move on, forget the crap & ticketing debacle of the last few days (I know easier said than done) and lets not worry about the things we cant change. Lets just look towards what will be a fantastic weekend of footy.

Its at the Big ground and its OUR TEAM who's playing there, they are in with a damned good chance of winning - lets get the positive vibes going everyone - EMBRACE IT SYDNEY!!!

Yeah! Loads of people I know who don't care for AFL or the Swans now refuse to go because of your post Big Al. All your fault.

              Get a grip CS.

BigAl is commenting that Joe Public would be reticent to pay inflated prices to watch the game on a casual basis at a ground that has proven to be clearly not particularly popular. I doubt any posts on RWO would have any influence on Joe, who wouldn't even know of this boards existence.

As for 'sounding as if you hope the whole things fails to prove your point' I found your constant criticism and derision at the drafting of Bradshaw far less palatable then Al's view of ANZ and finals prices. You must be soooo pleased that the experiment hasn't come up trumps at this stage.

I agree - whilst I am stoked that we have a home final and will be there with bells on, the fact is that a lot of people don't like Homebush and many couldn't be bothered to make what they perceive as a long journey to get there. I think I am in the minority when I say I actually like games out there (and I live in walking distance to the SCG), but I just don't think this is going to grab the masses, especially if the weather is a bit dodgy. And I agree the ticket prices are a bit steep, especially in terms of trying to get the casual supporters to come along. I just hope we get a big crowd and have a big win.

Oh please... already stated I'm pumped about the finals but I'm more than entitled to whinge about a poor venue that gives my Swans a disadvantage compared to our true home ground. Also please never ever bring into question my loyalty or my passion for the Swans because you would be terribly terribly wrong.

Also I thought you were smart enough to realise that what's written here whether it be positive or negative would have any affect on what the general public thinks.

Thanks BBB...exactly the point I was trying to get across. It does anger me that I would be accused of hoping something fails to prove a point which is so far off the mark it's ridiculous. If we get 60,000 and have a win I'll be celebrating long and hard with everyone else but I'm certainly entitled to my opinion about Stadium Aust.

A cheap seat at the Gabba last weekend cost me $59. You can buy tickets for good seats at the Swans final this Sunday for as little as $35. Cheapest at the MCG this weekend is $43 (premium $70). Cheapest (that I can determine) at Subi are $40.50. As for any ticketing fiasco on Monday I dont quite understand why people felt the urgent need to queue to get their tickets on Monday anyway. If it was being played at the SCG I would understand, but not at the 80,000 seat capacity ANZ Stadium. I still havent bought mine yet (although there's another reason for that).

Relax and enjoy that we are playing in the finals again and better still, playing a final in Sydney.

I have to defend Al here Cruiserl, there are some of us who are unable to use work computers to book things online because they are blocked - so they made a beeline to ticketek to see if they could get the seats they wanted from checking on the seating plan. Thanks to OldRoyBoy again by the way for lining up. The problem was that the computer system was not anywhere near aligned to what the AFL brochure stated. And the seating plan was so mixed up that some got the seats that they wanted and some couldnt even put in a request as the system would shut down. My group was perfect one for a stuff up - we wanted 3 adults, one student consession and one kid - so five all up - do you think that the computer could do it? not a chance - and in the end we have 4 seats together, no concession ticket and one of our group is in another aisle altogether! So please see it from our point of view - it was a stuff up of monumental proportions.
