I just watched the final quarter of the Blues game again and was impressed by Mike's big handball forward and then his kick in that led to ROK's goal. I think he might still have a big part to play in the next chapters of the finals campaign 2010. He's certainly looking like a big event player (like TDL).

Who'd have thought at the start of the season that the Canadian rugby convert and a skinny forward rejected by Freo could/would be pivotal to our success in the finals, especially as many of even the believers doubted we'd play finals. Well done to the recruiters and well done the these two. Gotta love their perseverance and commitment.

I for one would hate to see Pyke considered for trade. We may have plenty of rucks at the moment but the way he is developed and continues to improve it may be a move that would haunt us.

As for discussion of using him in other positions, he has great agility, speed and a big motor for one his size, put this with strong hands and fast developing skills its got to be an option if its best for the team but IMO he is suited in the ruck.

As for this year if we don't go any further its been a great year for development of these and several others but hopefully the story has another few weeks to run

But there are some others who can also lay claim to having moved into the 22. It's going to be a difficult period around R1 next year when we try to fit them all in the team. Ted, Reg and Bevo will be right to feel hard done-by if they are playing in Canberra when LRT and B2 are fit.

Reg playing in Canberra ha ha ha- the only time Reg will be playing in Canberra again is when the Swans play the Dogs down here or he is coming back from injury. How anyone could fathom that he isn't now a permanent fixture in our best 22 is in my opinion incredible.

I keep hearing the worrying rumours about B2 that he may not play again- I hope they are not right however.

I don't think Pyke would have got a brand new 2 year contract a few weeks ago if he was trade bait!!
