Good - as it should be for all future grand finals, hopefully!
I had a feeling something like this could be on at half time (not the draw obviously, but the closeness of the result!), as much as I think they've had a terrific season, Collingwood had a lot of younger players with <50 games experience, coming up against a team that knows all about the pain of losing grand finals from last year... they had to bury the Saints when they had the chance (And didn't we find this out the hard way two weeks ago... for the record, I don't think we would have been strong enough to get close to the Pies this year had we made it to the GF). I'm not sure who this favours, actually -- Collingwood are probably in better shape and will benefit from the experience, but St Kilda will feel like they escaped with a draw since they trailed for much of the game.
It was a sensational last quarter, though. Reminded me of 2005-06.Last edited by Xie Shan; 25 September 2010, 07:39 PM.Leave a comment:

The AFL have stated tonight that the match will go to extra time if it is drawn after regular time next week.Persuant to AFL rules, they keep on going. At some point the MCG will be unavailable due to the Cricket Season (The ground is always booked by the AFL for the week after the 1st Grand Final as a precaution), so I guess the Grand Final would be moved to Victoria Park, Docklands,Princes Park, or even Kardinia in a pinch. They'll keep playing every Saturday at 2:30pm until one side is winning after 120 minutes.Leave a comment:

I watched the game with my Collingwood supporting neighbour. He was providing the beer so I was very "intellectual" in my barracking. I thought the game was won after the Davis gaol.Leave a comment:

If, however, you had a rat's tail, you would probably have a different view...

go Saints, go Saints, go Saints; I will even cheer Nic. And Seany of course. And Schneids.
I will even send good thoughts to Lyon if they win. Just as long as Collingwood don't. Can't tell you exactly why I loathe them, I don't like loathing anything at all, but they make me growl and nash my teeth; if I had a cats tail it would be swishing.Leave a comment:

sadly that was us in 2006!!! - still I so hope that they get flogged by the saints on Saturday - that way the non Collingwood folk of melbourne will not have to endure the Pies army and General Eddie banging on and on about how bloody good they are.!Leave a comment:
